Reason why Joymax won't do a Rollback...

Post by EngravedDemon »

Doesn't the hack process require you to have someone's User ID?

So even if they fix the exploit in their website, it still comes down to people sharing their IDs (Which they strongly advise against or maybe even on the EULA or ToS). So technically, it's not their responsibility, no? Gotta chose better friends or people you can trust better I guess?

Also, how is it that much different from before when people are getting hacked 'coz the hacker gets a hold of their User ID and do a PW hack...? (Mostly Botters or People that pay to Power Level) Only maybe this time it's easier to take over the whole account itself.

Anyway, Sorry for those who have lost their accounts, but knowing most of them were Botters, Gold Buyers, etc... Makes me feel no remorse or whatsoever at all... Maybe none of them is so innocent after all, correct me if I'm wrong though...

This time you could just put in a random account name and luckily get yourself a fresh level 80 char!
Tired of this crap. Waiting for a private server to open (hopefully).

This is joymax's responsibility >_>.

It doesn't matter if someone knows somoenes ID, ID isn't the secure part, thats what the password and email is for, no one should have to worry that if somoene knows their ID its possible with joymax.com to take the account.

Yea how diff is it? only somoene out there with 60b+ thats not gonna fk up a server or anything, just a few hundred high lvls get screwed but yea whats the diff, we don't care do we, doubt Joymax does.

The point that really make me angry on these post is that they asume that people that was hacked give their ID to someone else. I didnt give my ID to anyone and I got hacked and they hacked half tibet, if you go there you will se that south dw is completly empty of high level. Maybe if next time the people of rev6.com decide to hack your server you will realize of how awfull is the joymax security.

Rev6.com has killed Tibet server and Joymax doesnt care about it.

I was just simply pointing out that Joymax would most likely blame players for sharing their IDs than/before doing anything to reimburse the hacked accounts.

I'm all for a roll back, just that it's gonna be least likely to happen... 2 Weeks rollback would spell "DEATH" to Joymax. What do you suggest they do? What kind of event would accommodate both ends? Just exactly how many people got hacked, would it even be more than 5% of the SRO population? They won't care about the levels and with SRO Population, I'm referring to all active/inactive accounts on their database (It's Free2Play and IT'S GAYMAX for crying out loud!)

Granted, I bet a lot of people are actually happy about it... Why? -- You know why... :P

Yea .. my thoughts are exact with Engraved. I don't mind for a rollback but judging from the rate JM is approaching this issue .. i don't think a rollbacks going to happen.

So if someone goes for the obvious, like kuwait, oblivion, killer, etc.? Is that still the player's fault? Dude you're full of shit.

So you think a hacker would waste 5 hours + on an account that he doesn't know? I doubt it... Also, most of those common and obvious ids were probably created when SRO started, most others would have numbers on them since those IDs already have existed...

Would be funny if someone tried to do that and get a lvl 16 account... LoL!

So really, it all comes down to the user, sharing his id or being keylogged...

actually that method takes only 5mins, if i was the hacker i would just need to change all the passes.i can get on those accounts at off peak hours...

As for giving out of ID's, the previous silkroadonline forums had a bug where u could see anyones ID so long as they posted on the site. With that old bug and this new bug(thats been fixxed) i dont see how it is the users fault.

oh and btw, there are private release that allow you to see user ID's. just like how Rev6 gets stats on your equipment.

Joymax farked up big time this time ^^
