Hi, Guys

On joymax web portal i have just noticed they now have SSL seems like thats what everyone wanted because of the hacks going around.

http://www.joymax.com/portal/

https://www.thawte.com/core/process?pro ... joymax.com

Can anyone else verify if this is in a effect?

Would be great to see if they put SSL up or not

Thanks :)

I don't know about any SSL stuff but the "forgotten password" bug seems to be fixed.

"Transport Layer Security (TLS) and its predecessor, Secure Sockets Layer (SSL), are cryptographic protocols that provide secure communications on the Internet for such things as web browsing, e-mail, Internet faxing, instant messaging and other data transfers. There are slight differences between SSL and TLS, but the protocol remains substantially the same."

Secure Sockets Layer, it's a chain of crypthographic protocols (or whatever it's spelled) that provides you security when visiting websites, e-mail, fax, etc.

Correct me if I'm wrong though.

OnT: I haven't checked yet but will do later, I hope they did..

People if you don't know what something means its so easy to just type in google. For example, with SSL, just type into google "define:ssl" and you got yourself a bunch of info. USE THE GOOGLE :banghead: Still so many people who don't know this wonderful place exists.

I think its good that we see them working on the security, I think this should really be the priority, even before the botters. Though I can't see why they don't have many crews working with different things. :(

From what i've seen so far SSL hasnt been implemented on the joymax portal site. I have heard from people that the silkroadsite uses it however.

It's not because of no ssl it's because of sql injection. SSL is just from
you to the server.

Googling for what SSL means isn't gonna get you anywhere.
Well, reading Casey613's post in simpler terms it means it is a method of encrypting data sent/received and adding a certificate to it so that only you and the server know what it means...and not some 3rd party...
