Someone here (dont remember from what topic) sayed that the best set for PVP nvm what is the build is garm
and he proved it

chnese chars use both phy and mag attacks
for example i will take glavie
it uses phy attacks with imbue (which is mag)
so
does it matter if you decrese the phy dmg or the mag dmg?
answer: no
so the thing which helps us decide hich set has more deff is the total def cus it doesnt matter if you decrese the phy dmg or the mag dmg...


example:

the glavie hits 10000
6000 phy
4000 mag

the garm def is

2000 phy
3500 mag

the prot def is
2200 phy
3000 mag


the dmg on the garm will be
phy=6000-2000=4000
mag=4000-3500=500
total dmg is 4500

the dmg on the prot will be
phy= 6000-2200=3800
mag= 4000-3000-1000
total dmg is 4800

so the garm got less dmg (happy)
so do you think it is true? or you know why it is not true?

Technicaly it might be true but do you know this:

the glavie hits 10000
6000 phy
4000 mag

?

You also forgot balances.

If the glaive hits for 10,000 damage say.

The actual physical (phy) damage is 6,000 and the magical (mag) damage is 4,000.

Hence the 10,000 dmg test number.

It seems logical in theory =)

That's so not how it works...
First, You can have 1 million magic defense and 0 p. def and it wouldn't mean you will resist 4k m.def since the glavies actually get like 20% dmg from the imbue or less.

Before, the best defense was the protector fro int, and the garment for str, now it's the protector for both. Sure, armor might give you better def as a pure int vs chinese pure str or euro rogues, but all the caster and buffer euro classes would own you even with mana shield. Conversely, garment will protect you from chinese int and int hybrids and the euro caster/buffer classes..well some since they have absolute dmg atks, but you would get manhandled by the str chinese and melee euros. And really, anywhere you fight more than 1 person at a time, protectors are better than garment because they would reduce the avg dmg done on you. So even if garms are better for cape PvP, and they work out pretty well against chinese if you are pure str, euro rogues would just manhandle you so much easier.

personally I think most of the d8 gear and weapons are ugly cant wait for the d9 stuffs

I dunno.. always had a soft spot for the pegasus armor myself.. <3
