Why garment? (Explanation/Info)

Post by shbly12 »

You may ask yourself:
- Is garment better than heavy or protector?
- But heavy armor have more phy defence.
- But garment have better magic defence.
- But most of the monsters have phy attacks.
ETC...

Now what i'm gonna do is to explain the goods of garments and how useful are they for both of the Builds, STR or INT:

This is recommended for lvl 35 or above, because when you are lvl 35 you must be chosen your build and started in it which will increase the stats for your build so its not very recommended for low levels but, as you like.

First we'll begin with STR's:
Okay, now everybody know that STR's put all or most of the stat points in the HP's which will increase their PHY attack and defence. So wearing heavy is definately better than garment in the PHY defence, but garment have more MAG attacks which they are not so high for STR's or in the heavy armor, so for high lvl pure STR's it will be good, and dont forget that garment increasing the speed by 20% and decreasing the used mp on skills by 20% too, so its better and better for pure STR's.

Now for pure INT's:
Okay, you now after what i explained will say that its not useful to wear garment in pure INT's because they have alot of MAG defence. The thing is that the monster you attack in the MAG attacks will be far to reach you before they get killed so they won't touch you in PHY attack, so the only chance of the monster to damage you is by a MAG attack, now comes the job of the garment, to give you better protection, and because that all attacks of pure INT's are based on skills, they cannot attack without using a skill if they want to deal a great damage, so the job of garment of is decreasing the used MP which will be very useful.

Now that i explained all the garment good, make your decision, Hope you luck :)

Forgive me if i made some mistaked in the words :P

srry but I don't think a pure int with garment is a wise choice. You wont be able to take on giants of your own lvl and you wont be able to tank 2 or 3 mobs if you are getting ganged. Pure ints should go for protector and if they use spear maybe even armor.

Garment Phys DF + Mag DF is much higher then Prot or Armor.

So Garment is the best for blocking Chinese, who have damage coming from both Physical and Magic attacks.

If you're a heavy int build you can use garment but if you're a pure int spearman for example.. well garment is not a good call mate, sorry for you fail.

pure ints in garments that are not retarded go search for magical mobs, those hit them (at same lv) 1-50 dmg ...
/doing nachals since 64 as a pure int with garments, and i haven't died yet by a rape or a giant =)

garments protects you far more from magical attacks then armor does for physical attacks, PvE-wise an int with garms is the best thing to do because you use none to few HP-pots.

i use garm not sure of how much speed it adds but i know is 15% or more anyways i am full int ice, light, s/s and i use it for the fallowing reasons

1. main reason why i use it is couse i can walk faster therefore kill faster and lvl faster

2. another reason not as important tho is couse i dont have fire therefore no mag protection and since i am full int and dont have much hp i have to watch out for the nueks wish are the highest dmg glavie can suck my iron wall and kd

3. looks cool lol

Great explanation cept that I don't wear what I wear because of what I grind on... I wear what I do because of pvp/jobbing. On my 79 str bow I wear garms because my magical defense is lacking for pvping against pure int/hybrid int. I don't have to worry much about pure str since we end up pot fighting it out anyways. On my 80 hybrid int spear, I wear prot because my magical defense is sufficient to tank int based enemies but I lack a bit on my physical defense. Would I wear garment, glaivers would drop me with little trouble.

*EDIT*
Bonuses are as following:
GARMENT -> 20% speed increase, 20% mana use reduction
PROTECTOR -> 10% speed increase, 10% mana use reduction
ARMOR -> none

agree!
int s/s should wear garm use less mp and you can run faster. Plus int have snow shlied now so dont worry about not be able to kill more than one mob.

It's true. My hybrid sword friend in garments can still tank multiple party general giants without sun garms :O . Garms are the way to go.

Garment on nukers don't seem all that bad, for many reasons:

1. You would do more damage with the increased Magical Attack Reinforcement.

2. You would be able to move 20% faster. Now knowing that INT characters are gonna max Speed Walk, they would walk really fast so they can get away in job or guild wars.

3. With the 20% MP consumption reduce, you'd be able to save on pots.

4. Again, with the 20% consumption reduce, snow shield would work more efficiently.

I find that in general PVP, be it job war or guild war, I stay alive a LOT longer as INT wearing garms, than INT wearing armor/protector. I don't notice a huge reduction of damage from a glavie user when I wear armor, but I notice a huge mf'in increase of magic damage from a nuker.

If all you're going to fight is pure STR, then yeah, you should wear armor. But overall, honestly, garment is better. You gain more magic defense than what you lose in physical defense. It's a simple ratio.

pure int > garment of course. you think you get more phy def from prot or armor? that's true, but the end result is still the same ... death.

I don't know about the stats on the garments of the player "cgty" from Xian.
He is sword +7 / shield nuker and is on Garments.

He can take a lot even without snowshield, although he is on garments.
Maybe I'm just weak, o.O! But I can't kill him.

I said "without" snowshield man.

He can take all my hits even without snowshield
taking into consideration that he is Sword / Shield on Garment.
Both of us fully farmed, Lv.80.
I never PVP an opponent with snow shield ON lolz.
Or maybe I'm just weakz zzzZzzz...

i never said anything about "without" a snowshield ..... i was just supporting what you said ..... i thought it would be understood but i guess not .... but what i was attempting to say was that with what you said + a snowshield ..... people will be damm near impossible to kill ....

and pvp doesn't prove anything ... but i dont know why people think using a snow shield makes you a noob .... ( not saying you said that ) ..... it's apart of the game just like a stun is apart of a glaivers key strengths .... but i guess people are too slow to understand

the higher mag. reinforcment = the higher average damage you hit and lower average damage you take.. ofcourse , you must take mag att% and mag. def. % into consideration when comparing the reinforcements.
i myself have noticed a nice overall improvement after getting all of phys and mag reinforcements on all of my last tier garments to over 60% (took me dam forever , but it was worth it).

overall looking , garments is by far a best choice for pure int s/s (all full blued ofcourse) , since you can tank a glavier and a nuker (even sosuns) , if you are well farmed ofcourse.
armor is good , but its horrible againts nukers , allmost can get you oneshot.
protector is decent in both , but if you got no sosun parts it wont help you much either.
And , on cap 90 those ice masteries will have to go down to lvl 30 if you want your bicheon/fire/light to be maxed , so i wouldnt be counting on it at next cap.

Well i'm a 33 pure str blader. And i goes for armor cuse of the high phy def. As i only (only have 1 mag attack, i hope u know wich.) use phy attack i dont need garment. I can kill monster with max 4 level above me. Lets say i always killing monster at least 1 level above my level.
What im trying to say, if you were garment u'll have to kill mob in same lv as you or lower. but you will kill the mobs faster then strs.
If you are armor/str you'll uble to kill monsters wich is higher level than you. you will kill them slower(hunt slower w/e) but in my optional i think i better kill slower but higher monster then kill mobs fast and get 0.01% each.
