Lol.
Look for skill patterns. Bots cannot switch up their skillset on their own.

define catch plz? cuz wat i think is
- you wanna kill him
- wanna make him get stuck so he cant move no more
- (only works on bots who have pets) go buy lvl 1 swords and drop them next to his squirrel/pig/watever till he cant carry no more

if they ignore you?
attack them cuz bots dont respond , so if he responds by killing u and saying noob, then he isnt a bot

easy ways to identify botters.
in town: they get stuck between some object (eg. trees. buildings.)
on horse: they will move to a certain distance then stop and turn around...then move and repeat
hunting: they have no delay and keep on killing while moving onto the next target...(kind of moonwalking if you know what I mean). they normally will focus on just "one" target until it's dead too
if babysitting...i guess u can tell they stop for abit and buff themselves...then continue to kill non-stop which seems kind of inconsistent.
or they buff half way through battle and stop for a moment...then continue to hit and buff with another skill one at a time rather than usually buffing all skills at once.

If the guy says "hey I'll be afk stalling all night long!"
Me: Cool, where?
Him: Good night!
That's just an example. I want to catch him (by catch I mean find out he actually bots) without him knowing.

In that situation, simply check his GP. If it goes up (which it should every 10 sp points he earns) and he doesn't respond then you will know.

I sometimes get stuck between buildings if I get a 30 second lag and end up on the other side of town and takes a second to realize where I am.
on horse: they will move to a certain distance then stop and turn around...then move and repeat
I guess if it's a really short distance that they move.
hunting: they have no delay and keep on killing while moving onto the next target...(kind of moonwalking if you know what I mean). they normally will focus on just "one" target until it's dead too
Yeah I can agree to that, but couldn't the moonwalking effect happen to a real player if there's a bit of lag?
if babysitting...i guess u can tell they stop for abit and buff themselves...then continue to kill non-stop which seems kind of inconsistent.

Sometimes I'll stop in the middle of a fight to buff. Not often, but I'll do it, say, if I'm killing a giant and want some extra damage or defense.
Those are good tips, but they don't always work.

Good way to identify a potential bot.

i do that most of the times cuz it looks nice. i atk a mob till hp is low then target another one and used a skill and u kind of phantom walk to him without actually using the skills..looks nice.

chances that he isnt using bot are pretty low since u r probably not botter...

Even if it's true that 9/10 people bot it's still possible to have a legit guild and I know because I'm in one. The reason it matters if someone does or doesn't bot in a guild is because I'm sure most if not all guilds (legit or not) have a set of morales or rules to follow and these people do not want to associate themselves with people that break their morales or rules which is perfectly understandable.
With the mentality you gave on how whether or not someone bots you shouldn't interfere on other people's decisions you might as well ask what's the difference between if someone in your guild scams or not. I'm sure that's his decision too and, as long as you're not the one getting scammed, it doesn't affect your char in any direct way and because it's his decision you shouldn't interfere in that as well. This example can go with other things that another guildmate can do that won't directly affect you however when you have guildmates that do these kind of things, it's possible to be labeled with them for the same thing which I know happens when someone who hand grinds joins a guild notorious for botting. Often the person who hand grinds gets labeled as a botter because of guilt by association.

That's a good point. Don't want to be labeled as a botter (or scammer, etc) through association with a certain guild.
But what happens when you join a guild, then find out half the guild bots, BUT you have good friends in the guild that don't want to leave? Stay to support your friends, or leave because of bots?
Hard to know what guild to join anymore.

All of my friends are bots now. I decided to leave our guild and solo for the rest of my career.
If they are your REAL friends, they will understand that you don't want to support bots by staying in a guild filled with AFK players.
But that is from my experience. I'd rather solo and be friends then stay in a guild and feel like a hypocrite, complaining about bots in a bot guild.

Personal choice, depends on which value you hold more important. Safe to say you can still be friends with those people when you're not in the guild and on the other side you can still hold to your legit values while in the guild so either choice can work.
