Seems Practical, but is it?

I've been thinking about making a char build I have never seen before, because all the ones I have seen, I've played to death. I don't mind if this idea is taken, because frankly I play for fun (and power), not to be the first or the best - although if I somehow accomplish that along my way, all the better.

The build I've been thinking about definitely has some bugs in it - which I'd like all your help. It's the core idea behind it that I've found so appealing.

To the basics now; What I've been thinking is basically a hybrid. It's main masteries will be cold, Force, and Bich. From the Cold tree, I'll be using the high phy. def, and mana shield, as well as the nukes to damage from afar. Force will be almost entirely for PvP (jobbing, cape duels), as the later books of the vital spot series can be very damaging. In fact, I've heard you can almost, if not, double your damage after successfully casting them. Bicheon is a necessary tree, and so are most of the skills I've chosen from it. The chains will be for close-combat monster fighting, and eventually PvP, and the usual skills for PvP. Also, the blade force and sword dance series's will allow a reasonable degree of ranged combat in addition to the cold nukes.

Ideally, this char is made for PvP. Cold, especially for mana shield, will help a lot, but as it is also the main imbue being used, basically anyone who isn't immune may have a hard time. PvM, of course, it's a given that cold = defense. Barely getting hit is very good on pots, and I've noticed on some higher level chars that I farmed specifically to test imbues, Cold Imbue saves a TON on Hp pots. I chose the force tree because the natural therapy series is a great tool to use when jobbing, and to reflect, the vital spot series is great for damage; res, of course, never hurt either. As for Bicheon, I've always preferred one handed weapons, and Silkroad doesn't disappoint. The shield is also a godsend for hybrids, in addition to one of two physical (not status) states that, of course, can't be pilled off. The theory behind this character is to have all (or a lot of) the fury and defense of a blader, with incredibly high comparable damage.

But that's only part of it. It's what I'm certain about, as it seems to be a killer combination. What I'm not sure about, I'd like some help on. This char is currently levelling, so thankfully, it isn't too late to make adjustments. There are a few things I still haven't worked out, like
  1. What should this char's balance be?
  2. Based on this balance, should this char use a sword, or a blade?
  3. With cold, force, and bicheon all at lvl 90, where should the other 30 points go? Personally I was thinking some sort of split between fire and lightning, to get the best of both worlds. What do you think?
  4. What kind of equips (armor, prot, garm) should this char wear?
  5. Do you think this build will work as it is supposed to?
  6. If not, what would you do to fix it?

# What should this char's balance be?
str or int, not hybrid

# Based on this balance, should this char use a sword, or a blade?
str=blade
int=sword

# With cold, force, and bicheon all at lvl 90, where should the other 30 points go? Personally I was thinking some sort of split between fire and lightning, to get the best of both worlds. What do you think?
int: lightning, to get a little bit speed and magical dmg increase
str: fire, to get phy dmg increase, mag def increase and be immune to everything
Do not split them, you'll get nothing.

# What kind of equips (armor, prot, garm) should this char wear?
whichever you like.. Try all and decide at higher lvls

# Most importantly, will this work?
Still lots of unfilled choices here, but i doubt it.
Just a few cons;
-ice shield has a long cooldown timer
-vital spot series can be canceled by simply right clicking them, so useless
-who needs a chinese healer if euro clerics are 1000 times better
-EVERYONE is ice immune at higher lvls. Literally EVERYONE. Ice imbue is worthless. Making the only thing you get from ice = defence. If you have a good shield you dont need ice.

Just my expierence.

Well I never knew about simply right clicking vital spot debuffs, and so that's definately putting force down.

As for it's build, I'm not looking for the power of a blade or the defense of an int s/s, more of the other way around. This is why hybrid seems to be a better choice. Also, with the 90 cap coming, a lot of guides are saying drop fire for ice, and if that far-spread piece of advice ever works out, wouldn't Ice be just as great as at lower levels?

Yes but while you're actually fighting someone you don't have time to right click vitals off...........Back when there was a bug with vitals and you could spam/stack them basically getting 4 of each making lvl 80s have 0 hit and parry, none of them right clicked off the vitals. It's a little out of the way to right click some pesky vitals while trying to use skills, choose targets fighting.

So they're pretty useful. That and the fact most players have no idea wth you're casting on them cause no one knows shit about force tree >.>

I'd say go for it but this game isn't really for testing diff builds with the exp rates.

about the vital spot, only the first 2 book (reduce parry and attack rating) can be remove by right clik the rest of the series can only be cure by speicial pill or by cleric.

What should this char's balance be?
i think it would be best if you go to int a little more than to str
Based on this balance, should this char use a sword, or a blade?
sword
With cold, force, and bicheon all at lvl 90, where should the other 30 points go? Personally I was thinking some sort of split between fire and lightning, to get the best of both worlds. What do you think?
lighting, for the buffs (speed, teleport(maybe you can spare one point from force for it, it won't do much harm), dodge ratio thiny)
What kind of equips (armor, prot, garm) should this char wear?
prot, you'll be best protected against all people with protector if it's going to a pvp character
Most importantly, will this work?
yes it will, hybrids are the best :love: [/b]

your build is not for pvp... you'll just lose... since you are hybrid and using the weakest of the trees, you are at a disadvantage. if you are hybrid your nukes will do less damage. On top of this, the ice nuke is the weakest nuke. with a bicheon hybrid build not only will you fail at killing pure ints but also pure strs. your build is mainly a defensive build, all pvp builds are offensive. if you want to tank just get a pure str blader (which by the way is a terrible pvp build) no one wants to fight them ---> pot war.

If you want a PvP char pick full STR

with no fire and light you wont have any additional phy/mag attack buff which is imho big handicap and also no speed buff

for sure go INT hybrid then STR one
and use sword, but all the time remember the main rule
just have a fun :) gl

You've picked a hybrid with the lowest damaging weapon tree (bicheon) and the lowest damaging force tree (ice) and force. I admire you're creativity but sometimes too much deviation is a bad thing. But. If you have fun playing it, then go for it.
