Almost half way through.... now what?

Within a couple of days I’ll hit level 40. A milestone….. (for me anyway). Then the “fun” starts or so they say.
How can I keep my focus for the next 40 levels considering the following:
- I’m not a hardcore player
- Only a few open quests to do during the questless gap until lvl45
- Yes, I’ll receive the academy bonus \0/
- I’m a pure str bow, playing with a 4 gap all the way.
- Currently mastery is 35, fire 35, cold only to have the first book max,
lightning only to have lvl2 grasswalk
I need some tips of how you succeed in staying dedicated to the game?

1. do something besides grind
2. find a guild with people you actually talk to..vent ftw
3. music plez
4. grind in intervals (20%-40% every so and so minutes/hours)

Hehe, once I listened to Wagner's Tristan & Isolde. Went quiet well during the grinding. Became an epic session
edit: and I'm in a talkative and friendly guild

Being in such a guild as yours really helps. You wont have any problems staying dedicated to the game :/. I set myself some challenges, small goals I can aim for, but it fits with my competitive personality

Well theres a few things really. 1st of all you have just got the next skin for the wolf. Now, that itself should keep you dedicated for another level or 2, the lvl 40 wolf is great imo, i love just watching it kill stuff >.>
2nd thing is grind for the next 2 levels for a new weapon. You have 6d approaching, and you get the ever sexy 6d bow. Now thats another mini goal right there.
Then all the way up until lvl 47 you have the goal of completing the 6g suit, you can grind to 47 with a new goal each level.
And hopefully in that time, you would of found a nice guild / union. The guild / union i'm in now is great. Its a large union, were all very nice and talkative, its great fun. If im a bit tired of grinding, or if i dont' wanna go at it full pace.. i just talk to the guild at the same time. Thats what keeps me going.
Then if that doesn't work, you can aim for lvl 52, set a massive mile stone of getting the 7th degree weapons. Hope it helps.

aight, u have a challenge coming now, grinding to 45 is ultra boring, like u can easily get 42 and its good cause u get a new wep+new motivation, but u have no quests till 45 >.> BUT, after u get to 45 ull start lvling quite fast, and then suddenly ull see urself coming from mujigis to the ice, and its gonna be awsome
at least thats how it was for me, i loved it.
And since i always wanted to grind on the ice, it made me ultra motivated ^^

playing with a 4 gap all the way
hmm...that will tk quite some time to lvl...juz go wif only the necessary skills will do

Its all about finding a motivation. Mine was that once i got to 52, i got to farm with a sos+7 spear. I cant wait, its gonna be so shiny ^_^
But yeah, targets like "I wanna kill this many spiders in this many minutes so i can finish the quest in this much time and get to level whatever by this day" and so forth.
The other thing I did was join an academy which is very active. I level all the characters in it from 1-20. The leader does 20-40. 35-40 is done on ice, and so i get to come along as a reward.
but you gotta grind. 5/6/7/8 Person Mujigi Parties FTW!!!!!

Thanks for the replies. I guess my first goal is to reach lvl 45. That might take a while .....
A well on the bright side with all the upcoming grinding maybe just maybe I'll get a nice sos drop
Oh and at what level does a lvl32 +3 sos bow (which my guildleader kindly borrowed to me

) become kind of useless?

just compare stats to a higher level bow, if it's better then switch

If the grind is putting you down just stop leveling
It is not a race to the top, just do what is fun.
Go trading, now that you can get pawned by tons of thieves there is no point to do 1 star trades. Go for 2 stars. Get a buddy around your level to help. Learn how to avoid thieves. Glavies girl is a pawnage trader. She was 52 when this update came out and if anything she trades more.
Or you can make money. Play the market if it is interesting to you.
I have gone weeks without leveling, don't do what isn't fun to you.
though there is a lot more jobbing to do once you hit 60+.
Do red quests.
Get a ticket and lvl like mad.
Your choices are endless.

If it was a race I would be just in front of the sag wagon.
By the way, it's not that I don't love the game.... not at all.....

Sorry to burst your bubble, but level 65 is half way. Lvl 40 is like, 10% of the way, as said before.

you halfway through lvls but not halfway through EXP
half way of exp is like 60s or 70s
the exp you get in lvl 80 (0->99.99%) is enough to lvl a char from 1 to about 53 and half

yea isnt lvl 1-40 the same as 72-80?

Do you do quests? If so you should just do breaks in between the quests. For example a quest that needs 200 quest items, do like 50 or 100 at a time then take a break. Once you get the quest completed you should be almost leveled, just depends. Then just do what the people above said to do when grinding.

are u kidding or just really bad at math?
if 80(0% to 99.99%) is enough for about 1~53 and half
how is 1~40 the same as 72~80
(1~40)<(1~53.5) and (72~80)>80(0%~99.99%)
so according to so less levels requires more exp?
you had to of failed math

like previously said, set small goals for your self to get motivated.
like me, am 44 now and am making a 6 gap to get xbow skills at lvl 52 thats my mid term goal.
my short term goal is getting lvl 48 so i can use my new dagger crit 21
ofcourse the ultimate goal is reach lvl 80 fully farmed and pwn the server, etc..
which will happen when dogs grow wings -_-'

F***K off. So what if one or two bot. Overall the guild is very nice and very helpfull and I have a lot of fun. And besides logically speaking in your "oh so legit" union there's bound to be a botter or two considering the number of bots in oasis.
Don't be a pope
Oh and absolutely speaking 40 is still halfway through to 80

actually, the thing you fail to realize is that someone who is lvl 80 gains about 5x the exp as someone who is lvl 40, so lvl 1-40 has the same "feel" as like 72-80

and yes, we prolly do have a few bots, its pretty much impossible 2 be 100% clean. but we try 2 be, and u know it
