Joymax approves 1* Poppers?

It appears from their latest new post, Joymax doesn't not disapprove of the 1* poppers. Don't look for a fix, but I'd like to see NPC Hunters for player theives.

There again, one could argue that there should be NPC theives for player hunters.

Q. What is a one star trade caravan?
A. In the Triangular Conflict System, the trade caravan and the cargo that is transported plays an important part. The star rating indicates the value of the cargo. The potential risk increases as the star ratings increase.
The one star trade caravan has the least amount of risk because player characters may not directly attack a one star caravan with their own weapons and skills however this does not mean that there is no possibility of attack during a one star trade caravan.
Because the trade caravan is an integral part of the Triangular Conflict System, it will come under the same type of risks as any other rated trade caravan. As Hunters are also an integral part of the Triangular Conflict System, they are the only way to ensure any element of safety during any trade caravan.

i guess it just comes down to the player who thinks 1 star popping is ethical or unethical.

Is robbing someone in the first place ethical? No.
Then if you do it, why should it matter how.

***i don't mean to complain in any of this if you see anything as that then you are misunderstood***
i thought you were against 1* poppers

anyway i'm 50/50 on the matter. i
s there is some @$$ walking around bragging/ going strait in a thiefs face with a 1* then they deserved to be popped but if its just some lowbie trying to srape up some profit/fun then they deserve to be left alone. a 1* for them will only get you like 16-20 k 25 tops and a tiny amoount of theif EXP anyway. might as well let them get stronger without bad experiances so they don't quit the game or trading as they might do multis later
oh and another thing i forgot. if you're high enough to actually 1* pop then you can probably kill any multi around where as i see plenty of multis i can't even kill so i don't get their loot. basically i mean it's not even worth it to pop since if you can then you'd get more profit and EXP getting multis

I have a bad feeling where this topic is going to lead....
Then again, maybe I should post the Q&A in the news.

well i dont think its ethical for ppl to 1 star pop and i dont 1 star pop myself. however not everyone is gonna think the same way about this if joymax did not give a clear answer whether it is ethical or not.

I think that Joymax probably didn't forsee 1* popping as potential threat to traders, but now that it is developed I don't feel that they see anything wrong with it. Joymax is looking at it as theives being creative.
Personally I think it is wrong, and a little dumb on the thieves part. I mean look at it logically, if the trader can't handle the thieves' thief then they are probably pretty low level and won't be carrying much loot in the first place. So, if they want to 1* pop let them mess with the 20k or so gold they'll make. It keeps them away from my 2 or 3* trade
Then you have guys like VITA. He likes to stand outside the south gate of Jangan and spawn an ox just to walk it around the gate and kill flower children. That is just plain rude.

Sorry Ryoko, what I meant was that they didn't give their opinion on the matter, so although they didn't say they approve of it they also didn't say that they disapprove it.
What they did say is that all traders regarless of the level of difficulty face the same threat in varying degrees. To me that says that they condone 1* poppers, but didn't have the guts to come out and say so.

I think it isnt the thieves being 'dumb', its more a fact that its hard to be a thief because almost everyone is too worried or does not have enough back-up to dare doing more than a one star.... i mean im level 4X and im still thief level 1 88% because i cant find people daring enough to be 2 star at least....
I think one stars get it easy, one star popping makes some sense...

Saying its ok outright would tick off a lot of lowbies that are victim to it, so they cant just do that. Fixing it so it doesnt happen would provoke a lot of thief to ....well, quit.
Its politically smart on their part to word things in a "game structure" sense.

Seriously, there isn't much you can do about 1 star poppers, make screenies? no one cares. Put on hunter? they usually have like lvl 57-60+ thieves with them. They also got high hunters to kill thieves who try to jack their stuff. So best thing to do is run around like a maniac telling everyone to run and killing their npc thieves lol.

1* Popping = Bad
1* Popper = Very dead lol
Dead 1* Popper = Worth a party, and to use him as a pillow to sit on.
Thats my 3 cents

no i dont one star pop cos i can be bothered to follow n00bs around in a horse all day lol. All i do is just look for 2 stars and gather the loot in the camel untill i get ther required amount of gold that the loot is worth. now is that a crime? no. Well it is cos stealing stuff form somone is generaly considerd as a crime lol

They kill the evil guys, and the enemy of your enemy is your friend, and traders and hunters are enemies of thiefs, so that means that they are good, and thiefs evil... yep yep..

LOL.
When I played tradewars, it was perfectly acceptable to be the bad guy. We got red names (neato!) and our own class of ships.
Good guys get blue ships, we get red ships. Ours are not as good, but we can rob ports for extra cash and they cant.
Course, when bad guy wiped out good guys planets, the tears and flames would arise, and we ignored it.
Space pirates at its best, doing our job and playing a game.
With no bad guys, the good guys had nothing to do cept putz around.
Oh, and there was always new people. Consider that....the lowbie.
We usually left them alone and let them build - because they wernt worth our time. But if we wanted to swoop in and wipe them out, it was our choice as the bad guys. Besides, its more fun to attack a good size force and wipe it out than someone with 1 ship. Ha ha.

not totally true, some hunters kill lowbie thiefs and let their friends/guild mate take the loot. that is just like popping.

Hmmmm well I do that for our guild. Its working as a team
We have hunters and we have thieves. Why kill theif and just let the loot rot? Some random is eventually gonna find it and scoop it - why not it be our own people?
Cleaning up after the mess ^_^ Our hunters and thieves in the guild both win.
On the same token, people have come up to me and asked for help getting their trader goods back. And I did.

If Joymax stopped 1* popping there would be ZERO trade activity. Everyone would just farm (and possibly bot) 1* trade runs when they hit level 60-70. At the very minimum you make about 120k profit doing 1* runs at that level.
Yes, it's unfortunate that low levels are being 1* pop'd, but do what Joymax said, get a hunter, or go in a large group of people 1*ing.

I always PM some friendly thief to clean up after a big hunter run. I want as many of the thieves to say, "I try again later." as possible so all the lil lowbies can get through. Leaving the loot on the ground just defeats that. LOL They wait for me to leave and try to take it again.
