I also doubt this, that would probably cause alot of work for them, you know no one would just accept it, they would all spam joymax "WHY I GOT BANNED" lol.

leave sro the way it is, and continue to collect his money, which is pretty much what is going to happen. I dont see any real action against botters happening any time soon.
The only real step against botters was before euro...and he warned them ffs, told them not to bot >.<

Very smart people that know c++? Right. Again, SRO bots aren't modifying the client.

looking at botters from a simple buissness point of view clearly shows that getting rid of bots is the only way for silkroad to continue to make long term profit.
a game servives on its noobs. every noob that spawns in jangan/constan is a future customer. every game servives on word of mouth. i think this game is awesome, so ill go tell my friends to play it. my friend downloads it, installs it, and gets "Cannot connect due to BlA BlA". thats the end of silkroad online for my friend.
bots keep the new generation of silkroad players from getting hooked and addicted to the game. without stoping bots, silkroad online is a ticking time bomb. take a look at ksro. once apon a time it looks just like our version. the servers were packed, huge wars everywhere, ect. now it looks like a sad pethetic little ghost town. thats the future of silkroad if the bot issue is not fixed. that future also does not make any money for joymax.
get rid of bots and a whole new generation of players will start to show up. they tell there friends, and the chain continues. pretty soon, the servers are full 24/7 once again, and you still have to buy your PT. Only this time the servers are full with real players. the trade routes are going crazy with noobs you can pwn, and south gate don makes your computer blow up due to the ammount of noobs killing each other.
the next half year will either make or break silkroad. so grab a chair, get some popcorn, and sit back and watch the show.

I don't know if they're going to implement any kind of immediate ban, but I've noticed today I've been able to immediately log into Venice at various points in the day. In the past, I could only log in before 4:30 am Eastern Time, or after 5:30 PM Eastern Time. Any time in between, I had to repeatedly try to log on for at least 40 minutes.
Now I can get in first try. No premium ticket either, and it's not right after a server inspection. One can only hope for immediate bans.
Either that or maybe they raised server capacity.

Same here. Most of my rl friends that played this game quit either because of traffic or overcrowding of grind spots.
@Fly. I had the same general idea on the bot problem and the whole argument that "joymax wont ban bots because they buy silk" but you probably worded it much better than I could have. Nice post.

im into game design and game advertising. been working on my own mini mmo for the past few years. never got far cuz its just a hobby not a job or anything. plus the private servers are an interesting idea so i read up alot on game design/ballance.
anyone who says that joymax profits off bots is wrong. it may looks like it by the the shitty condition sro is in, but thats due to mismanagement and lazyness.
i say 6 months because i cant see silkroad being active in 6 months without a bot fix. low profits due to no real players. no job activity. no wars. no pvp. botters live off pvp. kill pvp and even the bots will leave. lol a server of 3000 gold farmers

Look at the people supposly making the private servers. They say there is ways to 100% completely block out all bots. But joymax prolly thinks they will lose money on it. Altho, making a private server is close to impossible some say, It would be awesome to play one over isro offical servers.

Agreed. I've seen a lot of people quit because of server traffic or overcrowded grind spots. It's kind of sad really when I go to tell someone about this game, it's basically "Hey you should check out this game I've been playing. It's fun, but if you want to play, make sure you log on at 3 in the morning or you'll never get on."
