for me, I was browsing through Wikipedia looking for free MMORPGs and free FPS to play (Wikipedia has lists of all sorts of stuff) and then I found SRO on the list. I followed the link to the official website and it all started from there

People from another game started playing it so I joined too.

back when I played rose I saw it mentioned on roseguru forum when when it came out.

A friend... I got addicted out leveled him he quit .

An RL friend told me about the game, so i tried it out since I was getting bored with warcraft 3 and the rest is history.

When the first server came out, I thought I'd try it out.

Back then lvl 27 and 1 mil gold was "high" level.

How many years later, I'm about to hit my first lvl 80.

I was introduced to it by a few friends from school.

my UT2004 clan started playin the game and I finally gave in

a cousin who got on a hard time... he gave it to me and i saw that this game is better than the game "rakion" since there are only 2 stats to be added no dex soo... i think i'll give this game a shot... and this game is all about strategy... and i like strategy ..... and btw i still play rakion game

saw it in an xfire advert and dl'ed, wish i dl'd something else >.>

Probably the same as OP, on Wikipedia. Played it briefly, got bored, didn't play again.

Then someone on a forum I used to visit often mentioned it, so I got back into it.

i just discovered it this year. my cousin started playing last year, didn't find the game to appealing then since i was an FPS player at heart. my cousin quit the game at lvl 36, gave me his account and told me to try it out, and im glad i did. im lvl 77 now, i should hit 80 next month ^_^.

Someone I didnt know very well knew someone who was working on the SRO Alpha. I was playing a game called Ferentus which was going down at the time (completely gone now) and he convinced a bunch of us to go try the Alpha with him when it opened. We all started together. I am the last one still here. ={

It was around the time Rose Online had been hacked to helldom and SRO was in alpha, thought I'd check out what it was.

First day online I met the group of friends that stuck with me till now, althoug we've all quit sro and moved on in our lives, friends for life.

That's how I found out about it and stuck with it xD, really didn't like the whole addiction thing in the middle but it ended really well. SRO BFF <3

My first char was a 2:1 int sword...

came over wit 2 friends from conquer online, they lasted 2 weeks, but i kept going =P

i had to quit gate to heavens for sro tho V_V gth was going down neway, hackers galore.

umm i saw xfire freinds playing silk road, and after a year and half of being told to try the game i eventually did

Some old online friends from another forum wanted to create a guild on this "new game called Silkroad Online" so I joined. It didn't seem to last long though. It basically ended in the guild master disbanning the guild, giving the empty guild to a guild mate, declaring an unofficial war on that guild (using the new one he formed and several high lvls that would "kill us on site") and then everyone else quit one by one.

I moved through a couple other guilds, and now here I am about a year and a half later.

back when i played runescape i was looking for a better game so i found out about silkroad on some random forum.

We're playing dota(warcraft 3 map) that time then one of my dota buddies told us about his friend playing sro and the female chars was sexy so we tried.. I think I'm the only one left playing.. Been playing since march 2006 till present..
