Why Good Players Quit, RESPONSE TO ITS A FREE GAME CHANT

If it was 100% free and no one paid, THIS GAME WOULD NOT EXIST
Someone is paying to keep the game alive. Those of us who pay, want more from the game.
The software is only 50% of the game. Joymax made only half of a game.
If you want success, you hire people like a previous post said. With good game management, game idea and game play, you have yourself a great game.
Joymax can make a lot more money by spending more money in hire the necessary people it takes to run a game properly. There are few games that have great gameplay and game management. If you have both, game will be a huge success. If you only have one, its gonna die, aka Silkroad.
What do I and my Friends who Quit Want
- They want game rules and fair play to be enforced. They want improved gameplay, aka more than SP Farming and stupid job fights in front of DW Gates.
- Castle Seige is just a simple suggestion.
- Arena Style 5 v 5 Tournament style play (aka WoW and 2Moons).
- Instances (Many MMOs have this, because its fun).
- More Uniques that use skills, spawn more, with higher HP and more Def.
- Improve the alchemy system so people don't waste 98% of their time playing screaming at the computer over failures.
- Get rid of mercs and the new job system (I don't know anyone that likes these two systems)
- Improved Party System. (Like Lineage or WoW)
8 people parties for PvP events is idiotic.
Need to see their HP and Buffs on the screen, not just party window. This will improve gameplay greatly for healers and buffers
- Events. More Events.
Game Development/Basics
Game Development. Make the F**king game. Then you do updates and maintenance. Far less cost. Look at any MMORPG, they release the game with race/races and classes. That's it. There is no more game development. After that its just updates to improve game play, aka new skills, new uniques, grind areas, events.
Joymax the MORONS still haven't developed a game. They are still creating new race with classes. How dumb can you be, there are few people who want to play an incomplete game.
Race and Classes
DON'T CREATE ENTIRE NEW RACES AND CLASSES AFTER GAME HAS BEEN DEVELOPED. Do updates.
Focus on events, gameplay and maintenance. If you have a great game you only need to maintain and update every 6-12 months. Simple updates, usually events. People will keep playing. This obviously means low cost (maintenance, events, simple additions like new unique, or dungeon/instance, new city for castle siege). With profits, can start to develop new game instead constantly developing a game that might already be 5-10 years old.
EXAMPLE: Blizzard
They only have 2 factions. There is no new faction. During Burning Crusade they introduced 2 new races, Dreinei and Blood Elf. One for each faction. There are no new classes. And for leveling, you level 1-20 in of those races area, but they have to level 20-70 same area as the rest of the races. They don't have entire new race with entire new classes like Joymax did, its f**king stupid to do that.
Blizzard's next update will be the 80 cap. 1 new class added. Death Knight. They don't have entire new race with 5 new classes. Why, cause its f**king stupid to do that, they would be like idiot Joymax then. They will have new zones to level, new quests.
My Idea for Joymax (Just an Idea)
You have Euro vs Chinese vs Arabic. Differences, you give each race racial abilities. Simple as that. They have different skins, appearance. You have game play setup so they are at odds, some sort of war scenario. You don't need New Classes and New Skills for each race. No one does this. New updates will be new skills at level caps and better game play.
***Example: Each race has special skill tree. So you have a Euro Skill tree (Passives). So you level 4 Trees. Your Racial Skill/Passive Tree, 1 Weapon, 2 Elemental. Increase the Masteries to 400. Make level cap 100.
New Weapons and Gears for each race. Same thing, degrees. Sword, Blade, Spear, Glaive, Bows and Shields. Same weapons, just different looks. No need for different stats. But make them Race specific. A Chinese cannot use a Arabic Sword or Euro Sword.
This way you can still have the Skill/Masteries that is so unique to Silkoad. Still have the Character building system that attracted so many to Silkroad. Keep it unique, but still have different races that people want.
Game Flaws, Flaws = Huge Wasteage of Time for Players
People play a game for gameplay. Want something interesting to do. Events, activities, unique PvP Systems, Instances, Unique Hunting. Aspects that Guilds can use to create Guild Events, Gaming Days.
Example: If you are in a good Guild in WoW. Usually that guild has set days, like every Sunday and Wednesday Nights, Raiding nights. Set Times. Or if its PvP Guild you have set Days for Arena. Create teams within the Guild. This way players know twice a week, there will be plenty of players who will be on for this event.
TRADING AND THIEFING ALL THE TIME IS BORING. Creating Guild Day events around just Trading and Thiefing can get old. I only know a few people that actually like trading. Most people trade for the PvP and the confrontations. Well in Silkroad there is no guarantee there will be confrontation. Lot of us have decided and job and there is nothing to do....
LeveLing
Its a grind, granted. Some people love the leveling and grind. But make the grind more enjoyable. Quests. More freaken Quests that do more than give 200K Gold with 5Mil XP when you need 400Million XP. More mobs. More areas. As we know, most games have more than 1 city and 1 grind area for the levels. This is where instances help. Uniques help. Boss hunting. More dungeons.
Skills
SP Farming is not a solution. Already takes players a while to level.
My idea involves at the character creation. Before you can play, at the Character Screen, you have to choose 3 Masteries. 1 Weapon and 2 Elements. The Race Mastery, Skill/Passive is given from your Race Decision. Its a given. After this, YOU CANNOT CHANGE. NO CHANGING EVER NO ITEM MALL FOR THIS.
You have Skills and Mastery with Skill LeveLing. Below I explain how this works.
Everytime you level, you get 4 mastery points. Meaning you can only level 4 masteries. You can't level the mastery above your own level
You get 4 Skill Points. Can only level 4 skills every level. Enough for 1 Skill Per Mastery. There is no level Gap. So you have 4 trees, you can level 4 skills in total. But these skills are only level 1. You can't level these skills by grinding.
You need to PvP to level the skill. From PvP you will get SLP (Skill LeveL Point). Number of SLP you get from PvP will be determined by level. Number of SLP Needed to level the Skill will remain static. Meaning you always need say 500. SLP only from Jobbing and Arena. No cape.
Why LeveL the Skill? Everytime you increase the level of the skill, skill power increase by 3%. 27% Increase is nice.
Higher LeveL - Get 15 SLP (No matter the level)
Same LeveL - Get 10 SLP
1-5 LeveLs Below - Get 5 SLP
6-10 LeveLs Below - Get 1 SLP
Anything below level 10 - Get Zero SLP
NPC Thief or Hunter - 5 SLP
1 v 1 or Party. Doesn't matter. Everyone in the Party will get the number SLP designated by below. So you in a party of 4. 4 of you kill a level 80. If you are level 80 You get 10. You are level 70 you get 15.
Because you might not PvP at every level this is what your skill tree will look at.

Alchemy
Instead of making alchemy, items somewhat easy to get with low success rate. You introduce professions or jobs. WoW isn't the only game to do this. Look at Rose Online for example. Lineage. Its a way for players to make money. But makes crafting also fun. You make the items hard to get, secondly, player's character has to have the skills to do it. Make success rate higher, much more enjoyable crafting. Current system only tells players, buy tons of gold, bot for alchemy items.
Game Management
And yes, botting. Only Joymax is left with no real solution or method to anti-botting. Blizzard and NCSoft have made botting an issue and been trying to tackle it.
There is no permanent solution. Its a freaken war. You can't just quit. Gotta make constant update or you hire people to watch for bots and actually ban them.
There are few companies that run the game for both Korean and International versions. Joymax should license the game. Have someone else run international. Someone who has more ambition to create the best game possible. Let this company translate, since Joymax can't translate anyways. Let this company hire people to run the game. Joymax should just stick with development, because they don't know how to manage a game anyways.
Quit the game if you want more than SP, GT, Pets, Lags, ??? Errors, C++ Runtime Errors, Bot infestation, Weak Uniques, and poor PvP System
There is no indication that Joymax cares what you think. There is no indication they will change to improve the game.
There are far better games with far better support. If its a free game you want play games like Guild Wars where you buy the game/expansion once, play monthly for free.
Private servers. For WoW, not so great. But for Lineage 2, they are actually quite good. Some of them have 10K players. Lineage 2 servers are unbelieveable, they can support 10X more players than a Silkroad server can. Silkroad has what 5K players maybe, lineage more like 50K on 1 server.
Warhammer Online and Age of Conan, SUN Online all due out early 2008. Blizzard, NCSoft and Webzen are all major successes. Both in game management and game development.

For game in development: Watch out for Project Offset. New crew, small crew. They created their own engine. MMORPG FPS style. Still using classes like rogues, warriors, but the play is like FPS. Hard to explain, here is a demo movie that was leaked.
