You Botters Can Have It

Yup, it's another one of those, "I've had enough" threads.
Artistically speaking... this is a beautiful game. I like it a lot. Too bad it's run by people who don't give a rat's ass about gamers.
I was sp farming on Black Robbers and ran into an area where an obvious bot frenzy was going on. I stopped to watch the amusement... characters running around like chickens with their heads cut off. Suddenly I was in the middle of 5 of them that had paused for their next target. A Black Robber spawned right next to me and all 5 of these "characters" precisely and simultaneously nuked it.
I realized it was hopeless. And I was using a gold ticket for the first time, really wanting to get serious with my lvl 39 character. It's pointless. Bots, gold spammers targeting individual players... while Joymax looks the other way. Who needs it?
I later chatted with a former SRO player on TS. He told me he had heard that Joymax was owned by a company that makes gambling machines. It figures... the gambling aspect of the game is obvious. That wouldn't be so bad, but they can't even pretend to care a little about the legit players.
A game by schemers being overrun by cheaters. How quaint.
And for reference about the gambling company bit:
Japan's Gambling Machine Makers Strengthen S. Korean Business
Last paragraph mentions Joymax.
Hard to let it go... but I can't support this kind of operation.
And that bit about cap increase with no mastery increase. All those hours building a character only to GET RID OF SKILLS. I saw a comment the other day around here that, "fire is obsolete." Once considered the best tree for damage, now becoming worthless. The more I think about it the more I realize... that's the stupidest fuckin' thing ever. More manipulation to get money for deleveling... you know you don't want to do it all with Cursed Hearts.
You gotta' hand to them, they are crafty.
You devotees have fun.

u'r only lvl 39, why r u worried about getting rid of skills just yet...

Although I may agree on a lot of points with your post, this is not one of them. JM has FROM THE START made it clear that people should build their characters based on 2 skill trees. If people had listened, there would have been little need for SP farming, and for skill/mastery deleveling as well. Sure, at the current cap your character will be weaker than when you get the 4 trees you can afford right now, but that is a CHOICE. This IMHO is not something you can blame on JM (for a change).
Just out of curiosity (not that it really matters since you plan on quitting anyway), but did you even do a calculation for the SP need of 3-4 trees at, say, the level 100 cap that has just come out? Would you really want to farm that much SP? One level 90 skill is already over 5K SP! Seriously, the sooner you realize that you will end up with 2 (maybe 3 for now) trees, the better it is for your sanity.

and thats why i like euro chars...the games pretty much forces you to choose only one main tree and a sub tree...and they still own (with decent gear and skills)

Joymax might of said they would not increase the mastery cap, but then why are they ruining the game by adding higher and higher and higher caps, talk about unstable.
An every day player, without GT finally get to 60 or whatever after like a year or something (has a busy life, not much play time), and he is so happy to be the same level as everyone else! Hes thinking "Now lets have some fun!

", all of a sudden, a purple message "bla bla this is GM copy and paste bot, cap will be increased bla bla bla", the player is like, OMFGFGGFGFGFGGFGFG, 5 days later, there are level 70's, and he is still at 60 and 10%
IMO Joymax should just stay with the damn 80 cap, i think it's perfect for pvp, nukers don't turn into shit, hybrids can have their normal skills, bladers can keep their ice, and euros wont dominate for the rest of the game.

My advice is to quit or accept.
There is no way that Joymax will ever ban even half the botters.
Sorry to say mate but you're right
Joymax is a great company and they make a great game...but teh bots...herm

well people will get sick of being just lvl 80 at one point...some people might not like it but a new cap has to put in every year or so or else this game will eventually die...and even though the gms dont give a damn about the actual players they do care about the money that theyre getting from them
i havent ever even hit lvl 50...im at my current high score right now with lvl 44 and it was hard enough to get here...and now with all those gold bots around my grinding areas im stuck at 44 so i dont see myself caring about a new cap anytime soon...although it would be entertaining to see

I've heard it all before, but this one really got to me. The Item Mall on SRO is nothing. Presenting:
FlyFF the single gayest, most 1-dimentional, obvious-point-of-the-game-is-to-prove-to-the-man-beside-you-that-you're-better-than-him-and-rub-it-in-his -face game on the planet. The cash shop there is TREMENDOUS. Any given day, tens of thousands of dollars' worth of money is spent by their rediculously small userbase (everyone over lvl 90 knows eachother, cap is 120, most over 80 are well connected).
In this game, not only are cash items overused, they are integral to gameplay. Some people are so addicted [friend of mine that has since quit] that they spend rediculous amounts of money just for highly upgraded set. Said friend of mine spent most of his $250k inheritance in just under a week.
I love SRO over flyff for one simple reason: the lack of extensive cash shop trading. This makes all the difference, as players are much more equal here than games where cash shop dominance is so prominent.
And for those who are thinking of following that link, registering, and downloading the client, sure, go ahead. If you make it a month, you'll see just how different the atmosphere in that game is. Almost every character qualifies for the prefix [Snide] to be tagged onto their name. That, and FlyFF as a game isn't even half the game SRO is.

Really, at times I think this forum is filled with half of angry people looking no more than to take out their personal anger on others.
Why write that exactly? What's the purpose other than have the person becoming angry at your response?
He wrote something constructive, he took time writing it, he wanted to vent off and do it in a decent way where he wasn't attacking anyone here.
Yet, you have to write an empty comment like this, pretty inflammatory comment that leads to nothing constructive.
Next time, why don't you try to be more constructive instead of being destructive?

Meh... my intention was to get this off my chest and walk away, but I think it's only courteous to acknowledge some of the replies.
phulshof wrote:JM has FROM THE START made it clear that people should build their characters based on 2 skill trees. If people had listened, there would have been little need for SP farming, and for skill/mastery deleveling as well.
That may be the case, but not everyone has been around since the start. Show me a guide that has a build based on two trees. Show me anyone competitive in-game who only uses two trees.
I like balanced characters. I like the skills from severals trees that compliment each other. I wanted to do a dual weapon ss/spear fire/lightning nuker for lvl 70. It looks fun and challenging, like it might require a little skill and timing to play effectively. But why spend a year getting there just to arrive in a world where that build will be weak and I'm looking at grinding for Cursed Hearts or spending cash to delevel?
Xanovaria wrote:My advice is to quit or accept.
I tried really hard to accept it. It just finally got to be more stressful than fun. So... off I go. No biggy. No hard feelings.

Shimère wrote:He wrote something constructive, he took time writing it, he wanted to vent off and do it in a decent way where he wasn't attacking anyone here.
Thank you.
Yes, I was venting my frustration. It's rough pouring hundreds of hours into something only to realize it's going nowhere for you. I become attached to my characters, too. So it's hard to just drop them.
Others can have fun with it, not me. And the gambling thing... meh... who knows? Maybe not owned by a gambling machine company, but it wouldn't surprise me if they are heavily associated with it. I mean, if alchemy in SRO isn't like playing slot machines, what is?
Happy gaming.

I agree with you on the guide part, though there too: the guide authors were not listening to what JM had already stated.
With regards to reaching level 80: I suspect that you could do that in 6-8 months, 3-4 months with GT (especially with SGT) if you only get 2 trees. Most of the time I have spent getting to level 78 was spent SP farming, something completely unneeded if I had only used 2 trees in stead of 4 (yes, my current build is in the middle of a complete SP restructuring). I guess that is also what we will see when the cap is at 100, and new players get into the game. They should reach level 100 relatively quickly, since they will never spend ages farming SP to get 4 trees to level 80 (well, 80 80 80 60 or 80 80 70 70 or something similar in any case).

My sugestion: Try to play a European char, get a nice guild and only
IF you still dont find any fun in this game then quit...
For what you have said, you don't like the godlike sps needed for a good char... European may be your solution... try them and maybe you will reconsiderate your opinion...

Its getting a lil off-topic, but presenting to you:
Trickster OnlineTrickster Online wrote:From now on, every month for the entire calendar month, when you purchase Ntreev Cash Points, the total is tallied. When the total amount reaches a certain point, it then qualifies you for a special reward the following month. Depending on how many Cash Points were purchased during the month, determines what VIP Grade the Account will be the next month.
How to qualify for VIP Grades:
PLATINUM $500 USD
GOLD $300 USD
SILVER $100 USD
Trickster Online Revolution is a free game, and it is always free to join and free to play. While other games may use a subscription model that requires that you pay for the time you wish to spend with the game, or even time that you do not play the game, we here at Megalo Company follow a different tact
I seriously can't think of a f2p game that can top that. Did I mention that they have a gambling-like cash-shop feature? Or that they sell equipments
5-10 times more powerful that in-game ones of the same level?
Sorry, but to me JoyMax is like an angel compared to Trickster's Ntreev.

what is the point of playing a game if you can just buy the best shit instead of earn it?
**** me, just go pay someone, or something to play the game for you.
you're not a gamer if you want cash shop items that make you better then a regular player, no competition, no hard earned skills or items just bought shit.
just let the guy vent out his anger and be done with it, we have more "oh god not another emo quitter" comments then we actually have people announcing their departure

500$ for the highest VIP grade makes it seem like Trickster Online can't hold a finger to FlyFF. When I played FlyFF and merchanted, half my trades of cash shop items were worth over 300$ a day from each individual person, and half of those people would sell me more of whatever I was buying the next day. Though I must admit selling better armor is a little over the top.
Back on topic though, I think Euro was released as an easier alternative to Chinese in general. With Euro, you ideally have only 2 masteries (half the sp to worry about), level in parties with up to 7 other kills, and for the most part outdmg chinese characters. It's the way Chinese was intended to be, unfortunately players discovered that the strength in Chinese characters was their ability to solo extremely well. Case and point, pot delays.
I just can't wait for American, where you're not really good at either but can take over the economy with the snap of a finger.
