im going to make a rogue the rason im not doing both is cause i need to farm and i dont like. so lease vote and tell me which is better ovrall

xbow is about killing enemies before they reach you
daggers are about sneaking up to enemies, kill them quick and GTFO!

decide for yourself

You should put another option: both

A good rogue is one that has both skills, and knows when to use them

Personaly, I like xbow's "fire-and-forget" quick method, but then again, I hate running over to the dead monster's body to check if he drpped anything and pick up gold... which always seems to create some kind of laggy jumps.
So, I use daggers more often. Just kill it and quickly press a key for auto-grab and get on with grind

I say both, a rogue is supposed to be using both. If you only choose one of the two. It's like a blader without a shield.

Well if this is the only 2 options I voted xbow. Reasoning: probably the best overall for pve, pvp and jobbing.

i say dagger cuz i hate the farking bolts filling up my inventory

If you can only use one of them, then crossbow it is.

I prefer dagger but if you want faster lvling go with Xbow...you must work harder for the best things in SRO so i don't mind being dagger...its a nice change after trying to 9 gap with a pur str blader with no sos

From my experience...go with crossbow. You will be more helpful in jobbing and in parties with a crossbow. Dagger is more pvp oriented (for lvl 6x pvp) and it's just better to start with a crossbow. And don't try to get both till later on. Why farm when you dont have to? It's just a hassle. :o

Jobbing is PvP....
And why not have the best of both worlds even if you get 1 or the other you'll still have to farm a bit to max them out unless you've got silk

I like to use daggers because its what ninjas use.

I dont like to use xbow because the animation for their skills sucks.

I would get both of them, dagger and crossbow, it really is a great combo

CROSSBOW. say ur lvl 58, ur looking for isy with ur party, u want to get the kill right? u use daggers and sacrifice 75% of defense if u want to get the kill. so there is a VERY good chance u will die easily. u use xbow, u can attack from very large distance and no mobs will attack you, u will also do the most damage.

x-bow.most of the time i kill general mobs before they reach me(my lvl or even higher with 5 or better lvls + x-bow extreme).with daggers you're already there so.
Lets take it this way :
x-bow: you go to hunt mobs your lvl,lets say mujigi,cause that's what i'm hunting atm.You activate x-bow xtreme... i one shot them,they don't even move since they die in 1hit.
daggers: you go to hunt mobs your lvl,lets say mujigi,cause that's what i'm hunting atm.you activate desperate daggers...it takes more then 1 hit to kill them(1 hit,not one skill,prick is out of discussion).in that time they hit you once.
Desperate daggers = -75% defence. I have like 300phy defence and 360 mag defence.-75% deffence that is 75phy defence and 90 mag.that means a mob does like 200 more dmg to you..and since you're an euro ,with the pot delay ,you suck if you're solo(and no cleric sub).
x-bow = -50% Hp.i have 6k HP so 3k after this and -40%phy defence. that is from 300 to 180.i can survive,but the general mobs don't even touch me since i 1 hit them.
and how by much are the daggers better then the x-bow in pvp ? yea..you hit a lot and fast and the high crit helps you but..
daggers=lower defence then x-bow
x-bow= better defence then daggers.
And dunno but when i was with daggers @ penons(party) i was aggro-ing penons..with x-bow i wasn't doing this...wierd.
If you want to save SP and don't take both..take x-bow.Daggers are cool in pvp though .

I just bought both right when I started my rogue

you need both of them and everybody above me mentioned why

but I do agree if you only want one of them (and save sp or whatever)

take the crossbow

personally, i like the dagger because its more fun going to the enemy and cutting him up with crits

also, worrying about dieing is not a problem if your in a party with a good warrior and wizards

I find that Xbow guys go down ALOT easier than Dagger guys especially in PvP theres no way you can last that long against Strs with -40% Def AND -50% health

75% - def is alot easier to manage and boost with the right sub whereas with Xbow theres no fixing it....8K health at lvl 70 is not enough

The 75% defense is easier as well because of pot cooldowns, you need higher HP for the pot to last longer.

If you have a tiny amount of HP, say 2.5k at level 40+ with Crossbow Extreme on, the large pots you should be using at that point will be done healing you in about 1-2 seconds. That sort of thing gets you killed.

On Topic: Get Both, there's no way around it. You need both, need!

just gap a while and get both...its not that hard >.>
