Seeking Level-Up Advice

So, I am building a full str glav hybrid, and having a helluva time. I'm not a big fan of joining a guild (because I can't commit to any certain time frame to play, my play times are random, but usually 4+ days per week). I don't/haven't run a bot. I don't like the idea of getting a higher level player to help me "powerlevel" with a shared exp party. I don't buy gold. I don't/haven't use/d any powerleveling service. In other words, I am a purist when it comes to gaming (worse luck for me, I guess) I just wanted to do it the old-fashioned way and grind my way to infinity.
Here's where the real problem comes up: I can't seem to get away from the level 45-50 players that want to come along and ks every giant, champion, elite, party char, or general, ffs

I'm just barely 40% into lvl 40, and the frustration is building lol. I had thought that with the advent of the euro expansion, there might at least be fewer players to have to avoid in the chinese areas, but wow... was I wrong. Any advice, folks? Should I just grin and bear it?
If nothing else, I feel a little better having vented a little

I'm sure you're not the only player that experiences this. My opinion, join a guild even if you're not as active as you think you are. Guild members help each other out, and if anything, gives you a place to talk to

.
Not trying to be mean but, whats a pure str glaive hybrid (typo?). The ksing problem will get worse though, so you're going to have to just brave it out :/
Btw, which server do you play in?

what sylhana said.
btw you cant be a pure str hybrid?
anyway as in for the ksing thingy, you will have to bear with it, it's an everyday situation. It will happen to you, it will happen to the rest. Just focus on your grinding.

start your char in cSRO u can spend 10 hours on killing the same giant, nobody will come to ks you
BTW i think full str hybrid means nuke will be taken account in his grinding method...Maybe like... starting with a nuke >> then some glaive skills to finish up?

As far as the pure str hybrid, lets assume it was a typo. I will assume your a pure str glavier. Now if your grinding on mobs where u are lvl 40 and lvl 45+ people are ksing you, it means you are on the lower spectrum. By this i mean that you are the lowest lvl to grind on these mobs, and they are the highest. Try moving to a lower mob, lets say a lvl 37 mob. That way its still white, and you are on the higher end of the spectrum. As a pure str glavier u SHOULD be able to 2 shot a 3rd lvl white mob.
As for the guild, im sure u will find a guild who is willing to suit your playing style. Theres not many people who play a consistant amount of hours everyday. Guilds are what make this game fun, someone to job with, people to talk to. Its defiantly worth it.
Hope this helps.

the hardest lvls in the game are 40-52, a lot of players quit at that time, thats why (before euro) DW was always the busiest place to be, everyone got stuck in the late 30's. If you can make it to 52+ and grind in karakoram, it gets easier from there, at 60+ u can move into the cave (best grinding place in game), after that u can move into takla at 72 and have fun with the bots, i found bone soldiers and guards were the least botted mob in takla, 72-80 may be torture to grind through endlessly but its still better than 40-52

obviously, my verbage is off
yea, full str glav, by hybrid I meant ice/fire/light... sorry, I just now started REALLY reading forums for this game, so I'm not quite up on all the lingo just yet. it's a first for me actually... I usually get involved in a games community from the start, but the game itself has had my full attention until now (read: frustration just now kicked in

)
to matrixman: thnx for the advo. now there's a light at the end of the tunnel >>
ted: yea, I've been farming around the robber's den, that's where I kept running into the asshats ^^
thanks to all for the replies... given my current forum activity since starting the game, I will prolly post again sometime around December lolz....
