I was replying to a thread made by im_a_bot when I decided to create my own thread on the subject, because I really wanted to get my rant out there.

So here it is, I am legit and here is why,

There are two styles of game play which reflects life, one is instant gratification - something that plagues modern day society. These type of people tend to not be able to handle the excruciatingly slow process of grinding because they want their things to just be there with minimal work... I would compare their mentality to Paris Hilton's (and if your an idiot, that is not a complement).

The other is the go-getter mentality, something America has long since buried since the birth of television. I'm not saying TV is a bad thing, only that it breeds a certain mentality which everyone suffers from to some degree.

A go-getter likes to work hard for what they want, and these types of people tend to become management level workers or higher. Thomas Edison didn't simply one day decide to put together a functional light bulb, it took hundreds upon hundreds of tries until he got it right. A go-getter is not someone, contrary to popular belief, who does "not have a life", thats just an excuse made up to make the instant gratification people feel better about their situation they are too lazy to change.

We all know that more than half of the community bots, so don't be offended when I say this:

Which type of mentality are you? Are you a go-getter or a Paris Hilton.

If theres a just in loving god, I hope you choose go getter.

So what if it takes a year to grind to 80, at least when you get there you'll have made new friends and will have a real value on the things you have accomplished, rather than having it just handed to you. It's no surprise that the scammers of the servers are botters - they have no value in the game, they just simply pressed a button. If they lose their character, so what, start a new one and it will be 80 in a few weeks anyway. Botter or not, everyone suffers from hackers, scammers, and script kiddies, so stop adding to the problem and be the solution.

Its never too late to go legit.

I'm a go-getter though I've thought of getting a bot because the grind is so irritating but then i realised bots get no respect and asked myself this question: why would I spend money on a game I wouldn't play 80% of the time?

Actually shes the best choice, because the same mentality that Paris Hilton has is what botters have... theres no denying it. Skip through life by taking and taking but never actually do any real work.

To be honest...I'm a paris hilton hehe...But I dont bot...I like to get things done the easy way cuz Im well...lazy.

Hmm love these organized rants. Not sure what i am really. But this has given me some encouragement to keep farming and not give up just because a bot is there being a jerk lol

Go-getter. You gotta put in the grinding time and get it yourself. Anyone that bots is a loser/cheater all around.

+1 on the 'never too late to be legit' but...

@ L80 'born again' legits - it's screwed up that some people bot/cheat all the way to 80 and then start saying "oh but i'm legit now" - still have no kudos for you. Prove you're legit and hand grind another character to 80, then you'll have my respect...

haha i looted a bots +6 drop 5th degree bow i made his pet pick up a bunch of nooby stuff

I just grind the 3 hour gt then do something else irl or pvp/job if theres really nothing to do around :l im kinda lazy tho... but sometimes persistent. Can't say i fit in either category. :/

paris hilton is my idol! i dont bot tho. i wouldnt say shes dumb, she has made over 40 million for herself, not includings parents money. Most "Go-Getters" dont make themselvs that much.

There is a flaw in your analogy. Bill Gates is more like the botters and less like the legits. It is a fact that Bill Gates and company lied, cheated, stole, and bullied to get where they are. But that is corporate America. Where you answer to the stock holders not the consumers and profit is the guiding rule. That is however as far as I will go on the subject as I doubt the forum really cares whether Bill G or MS was good or bad. The guy sets up a trust fund to give out money he stole from others and he is all of a sudden a saint. Make no mistake the Gates foundation was simply Melida's effort to sooth Bill's conciousness over all the lives he ruined. But when you are handing out gold etc people are often willing to overlook getting trampled in the past. Ala everyones favorite botter on Xian littleazanboyz. Or whatever he calls himself nowadays.
