Pure STR: Spear vs Glavie?

I have read many times that pure str char should have glavie and not
spear...but what if the weapons are equally good? Another thing, does not
pure str use imbue (ex. fire force, magical attack), and isnt it good to have a
weapon with good magical attack then. Explain the difference or just refer to
a link pls. I am about to buy a SOM spear. My char is pure str though

It won't matter that much. It's just that the damage of your imbue will rise, and thus your non-skill attacks. And your 'pure-str'-attacks(Ghost spear, soul spear, etc.) will have a decrease in damage. You will do fine with a spear though
