Whoa so much LAG!

It was so unsuspecting. In the server Pacific, my friends and my guild just started lagging so much! I mean like we were trade running and I was already on the otherside of the map when I wasn't lagging. Then, I started lagging again. It was annoying too. I died and our hunters died and my guild died in trade run...
So what I am asking is did anyone else start lagging also or it was just us?
