Yup, it's still there. What can WE do about it. They're everywhere. We NEED to stop them.

Oasis: Bota Palooza, oasis is thriving. We can see well.

Eldorado my new main server: Yup. Still going.

Now, the question is, how do we stop them. I know this is a dumb question but think about it, Get us some ideas. These dudes are ruining my fun! I say we go and have hunting parties for Botters.

Get everyone to stop buying gold.

No point in having such a big supply if nobody buys. =]

JM can start selling those SoX stones in item mall and I'm sure that would reduce the amount of gold buyers and gold bots.

both would work, but can it be done?

But if you had me take a picture of every botter at Bunwangs/Maongs, I would probably crash the server.

Hire competent game makers to Joymax, and then maybe we can stop bots before they connect, or at least be able to detect users of illegal programs easily. Also getting tougher on bots and gold buyers in Joymax's so-called "war against bots." This is the only solution.

lets not make ccf even stronger than it already is now.

Just blame gold buyers that we now need premium to log in :P

Weird name don't reveal a bot, their actions do. I tested that out with a new char named something with a bunch of random letters and got called a bot so much even though i was just watching pvp and killing the occasional mangyang.

let me tell you the obvious

If JM wanted bots gon then they would be.

this is exactly why we all are easily able to come up with ways to get rid of bots. because it IS easy

JM dont want to.

however, they do get rid of the player bots who "do not buy silk"

but they leave bots who buy silk

i dont blame them

there a company after all

this game exploit is a benifit to them.

Yes a gm could go in game and go round finding bots but then what?

they would have to get the name then look in data base to see if they buy silk. and do this for every bot they see. alot of hard work.

this is why they just leave it for a long time and then do a huge bot ban. this way they get rid of all botters who do not buy silk in one go.

JM arnt stupid.

Grinding is FUN? If thats fun then the Spongebob Squarepants fun song is fun!

F is for fun and U is for you and me! N is for anywhere anytime at all, down here in the deep blue sea!

It will always be there, always.

There is no mmorpg game in the world which hasn't the problem with bots.

Just that some gaming company ( Blizzard) care about their game and it's hard to find anyone botting. But if someone is found they alarm the GM immediately, he checks that user and bans him. While Joymax is simply only after the money which the Item Mall brings.

Questing is much more fun than grinding and a great way of leveling in some games. In Silkroad it's different because all quests are so mediocre and repititive. Combined with the fact that you never get equip or nearly as good rewards as you can when you just grind.

About the botters... there is sadly nothing we can do because Gaymax doesn't care.

My opinion: Uninstall SRO and check out this new game called Perfect World.

wrong, shadowbane dosnt have a problem with bots :)

1. there is no reason to bot (in SB) because you can reach the level cap in 3 days
2. you can kill any bot you see (open pvp)
3. if any guild finds a way to be as big a problem as botting (IE. scamming/spamming/trash talking) you can just bane them and destroy their city and they go bye :)

*waits for Ito and co. to shut me up about shadowbane*

Those are clientless bots (gold farmer bots) gold selling sites use them. They get banned often by JM, thats why you see new chars (with names made with poor effort :/) botting at Jangan now and again.
