Making Gold Farming Bots Redundant

Why can Joymax (Ironically my computer automatically turns Joymax into Toymaker :D)not just make it so that you can sell silk for gold? I mean that would mean that gold bots would either have to undercut the gold buying market or else go and find a new game.

Suggestions?

I know this would mean that people hoarded silk but ti would mean that silk prices fluctuated and as less silk was in the system it would be worth less gold and therefore the price would go down and then as it all got bought up it would then be in short supply and the price would go through the roof. Just a suggestion would kind of make Joymax the gold sellers themselves, without the laggy borts, who steal server places, who would have no more use.

PS. Im not sure what a bort is either, but I typoed it and kinda like the sound of it.

P.P.S.I hope this was clear and I hope it hasnt been hashed out hundreds of times before, if it has be feel free to lock and delete it but I couldnt search out another similar thread. (to be honest I couldnt be bothered to read through hundred of OMG BORT! threads.

I dont see what u are trying to say.

Why can Joymax not just make it so that you can sell silk for gold?

They did. Item mail items were exchangeable back in the day. An update got rid of that.

I really dont know what u are trying to say in this article, i cant fully understand your logic. Maybe its just your imperfect English, maybe its the fact that its late and im tired. Either way, what are you saying.? lol

He's saying... why doesn't Joymax make it so that you can sell silk in a stall in-game for gold? Purchase a bunch of silk through paypal, then put that silk up in a stall for other players to buy using gold. If legits could sell silk in a stall, that would make it pointless for people to go out to gold-selling websites to buy gold. Instead of buying gold, buy silk with cash (legal) and sell that silk in-game through a stall or exchange (not implemented yet).

Maybe that would get rid of gold bots, because people wouldn't be buying gold from the websites anymore (they'd buy silk through paypal and sell it to get their gold.)

I'm guessing the reason they don't do this is because it would open up another way for people to charge back. Make a dummy account, buy silk, sell it for gold, transfer gold to main character, chargeback, get the account banned. Then you have your gold AND got your money back. You'd have Jangan filled with lvl 1 silk sellers instead of having gold bots out in the field.

I would much rather have Jangan full of level 1 silk sellers, but I'm pretty sure that Joymax would rather have the gold bots.

Either way the game is screwed and has to live with the gold bots until Joymax gets more active.

I dont know how long u have been playing SRO. I have been playing for about a year and a half, maybe 2. Not sure on the time. Anyway, they did have this system. Item mail items were able to be exchanged between players and sold for in game gold. Though this caused alot of problems. This game already has a large disadvantage against people who dont buy silk. By implementing this system, again, it would mean a lvl 1 player just starting off, could buy up big on his credit card, get 500 million $$ in a few days, and enjoy the entire game with ALOT of money, whilst someone without access to item mail could play the game, hand grind up to lvl 80 without silk, and never see this kind of money in their life. It would create a greater bias towards paying customers, and cause many people to leave. This, in theory, will then see the servers with a lower amount of people, lets say theoretically, half the number of people. With the lack of players, people would start to notice the lack of items, especially sos, being sold on the market., and this COULD cause some more inactivity in the game. This could be fatal to SRO, as a mmo, relies on interactivity.

That is all in an extreme situation obviously.

Then why not just make it impossible to sell silk until level 20 or 25, it would give people an extra incentive to get to that level quickly and should stop the majority of CCF?

No, I like purple, my sonic will stay purple :P

lvl 20 = 6 hours.

lvl 25 = 10 hours.

I know i would be willing to spend 10 hours grinding for $500 mill.

Simply, that lvl cap isnt severe enough to stop people from doing it.

with your idea, 10M gold will cost only 3-4usd in silk

becuase if its priced higher than those goldsites, still ppl will buy from the goldsites

I've been playing for maybe a year and a half as well. I never bothered with the Item Mall, and don't have any plans in doing so. I plan on grinding my blader to lvl 80+ without silk.

I've heard about Item Mall items being available for gold in the game at one time, and the problems it caused. The only point of my post really was to try and clarify what the person was saying: make it possible to sell your silk to other players for gold so gold-sellers won't have customers and will go away. I wasn't trying to say it was a good/bad idea. I understand what you're saying about lvl 1's selling silk and going through the game with 500m+ gold. Perhaps make it so you can only sell silk after lvl 40 or something, or scrap the silk selling idea altogether.

Either way, I don't need no stinkin' silk :P

Ironically enough the way gold sellers get the gold is more down to our “in game greed” ,100’s of gold bots get masses of elixirs ,sos ,tablets etc and it’s us the players in general fuelling the companies with gold to sell by buying there cheaply/cheaper priced stuff..

So even if joymax made gold available through the item mall in some form it would only end up back into the hands of gold companies who’d then sell at a cheaper price as the gold would be flooding the market so to speak..

They’ll never stop gold bots, or player bots for that matter and we can’t do a lot as they’ve supplied isro with a second party forum with gms/admins who can’t ban at all but only forward reports……. so what is there use exactly?*

(*That’s my question)

One second, you are saying that the gold companies would buy gold with silk and then sell on the gold making a profit? How the heck does that work?

tbh, paying customers should get an advantage. Isn't that the whole point of paying? Like runescape (shutup i don't play it, but its the example i have right now) there are members area and the paying players get better things and better stats.

SkipsH wrote:One second, you are saying that the gold companies would buy gold with silk and then sell on the gold making a profit? How the heck does that work?

this would not only make anyone that ccf even stronger but will bias the game even more

if you want to have less lag, less goldbots then the only thing Joymax could do is allow each gold company to have couple of high level farmers

Or just simply start banning the gold buyers since those are the main problem for the server crowdedness and not the normal 7days ban or whatever they seem to be getting but lifetime ban. tracing gold can be done easily so this will also stop the gold buyers who do it on other accounts

it doesn't work, because of the amount of ccf'ing that goes on....lvl 25 is nothing but a day's work, & ppl can make hundreds of millions gold from a day's work by simply ccf'ing & selling the items

however, joymax could/should make selling silk items possible for a lvl 70+ char...I'm sure no 1 would want to risk their lvl 70+ char getting banned

Being able to sell silk for gold is a huge failure of an idea because you failed to realize the gold bots are the ones with all the gold... the last thing we need is hundreds of gold bots with a lot of silk.

Yeah, but it would be appealing to sell silk through stalls . Someone said up there that it would be useless because unless you sell lower than gold bots, the people would still go to the gold bots.

But think about it, 10 year old kids certainly do not have paypal accts, ccs, or any of the matter. to pay like 40k extra on silk using gold would be a great compromise considering some people JUST CANT BUY using CC and other methods of payment, simply because their parents won't allow them, or they just can't because of financial issues.

So, as long as the char plays the game, he gets gold, he buys silk, its his choice. Interesting Thoughts!

They should be a bias, like there currently is. But the bias shouldn't be THAT strong towards non paying customers.
