You're kidding, right?
Believe it's the person who does the most TOTAL damage, but if you die, your damage gets reset. Meaning, if you deal the most damage, but you die when the Unique has one HP left, and someone else finishes it off, you don't get the kill.

Hi Jnsd,
This is GM, your friend is wrong. The person who gets the kill is the one that hits more damage inside a party where the sum of all the player that are hitting the unique is greater than the other parties (hitting the unique too).

wrong about the damage reseting but right about highest damage, one of my old guild masters got the kill for isy while he was lieing dead underneath her once (his buffs ran out and he got owned). Your damage gets reset if you return to town. Not if you stay there or get ressed.

He's being sarcastic.
If you didn't know, this isn't the official SRO site.
http://www.silkroadonline.net is.
We're just a fan site, although that's not to be taken lightly - we're the largest SRO fan site, and the damn best, as well.
Even if you brought it to the official SRO site, I highly doubt any employee of JM or a GM would respond to you. It's just not their style.
Anyways, we're certainly competent enough to answer your question - it's not that hard. You don't have to be a GM to know how it works.

Take this with a gain of salt, but i read in some place:
If a party is hunting a unique, the damage of each member added its used to count the total damage done, and then counted like 1 player.
ex: unique X = 10000 hp
party with 4 players:
A= 1500
B= 2000
C= 1500
D= 1000
player E, not in party = 4000
The kill go to the party, (6000) to the player in the party with more dmg = B (2000)
Dunno if thats true, and sorry if the statement sound obscure, but my english its pretty weak

More dmg.... Yeah the guy goes and get ie Tiger Girl too like 2 hp left and an lv 3 noob comes and kills her would mean that he killed her... LOL
Then 100's of ppl whill try to get the last hit and there would be even more camping
Its like every monster.... More dmg you get the drops.. But on Uni you get the kill sign and the drops

Well that could be possible.
From now on I will only hunt uniques in a pt

lol.. nothin with pt .. i hunted uniqes got the kill without pt. you dont have a bigger chance get the kill while in pt

But whose to say anyone else who attacked those uniques was or wasn't in a share pt? I've killed uniques before without a pt but that was either cuz I was the first there or the thing was dozens of levels below me.
If your 80 and your fighting Ureuchi for example and a party of 8 level 30's came and attacked it you'd still get the kill, if a party of 8 level 70's came then you wouldn't.
The party thing has always been there since day one.

It doesn't reset if you die, only if you teleport or dc or w/e.
And its right about the party thing, if I get 40% dmg on a unique and a party gets atotal of 60% of it, then whoever did the most in that party gets the kill, that has pissed me off a couple times at isy a long time ago lol.

Well said, I have also got a unique kill while laying dead.
