A word of warning about cSRO

Keep in people, and do keep this in mind, that at any given moment, Chinese officials, the owners of the Chinese license of SRO can block foreign IP's.
Now this hasn't happened in kSRO, doubt it would happen in the future also, but they are more and more games coming out who blocks foreign IP's, just take Cabal for example.
Now that may never, ever, happen in cSRO, but for those who are investing time there, keep this in mind that you may lose these accounts at any time in the future. After the, the license is bought by Chinese entrepreneurs and I seriously doubt they like to see a huge spike in services by foreign IP's. Now , this said, I'm playing there right now, but what I know is, what ever I create there is a trash account, I will be returning to iSRO the moment the patch comes out.
And again, I want to stress that they may NEVER block IP's but the possibility is very much there and once foreign IP's are blocked, that's it, that's all.

I thought the great fire wall of china only blocked domains because of censorship. What purpose would they serve by blocking foreign gamers? The spreading of radical political messages in game? I don't know, I could be wrong.

What the heck are you talking about? Cabal is restricted to Europe only, we had talks about this with Kru (Cabal mod) only days ago, and the fact it went F2P has no relation with the topic. I only used Cabal to talk about the fact that IP's can easily be blocked at any given time.
"Please note: This game and these downloads are provided for EUROPEAN players ONLY. The game will not work if you attempt to play outside of Europe. "
Taken 2 seconds ago from Cabal's site. You must smoke really good weed.

I know, and you are right, many are aware of this but many seems to be taken with this fever of "They are few people on those servers". The last thing I'd want to see is someone working their butt's off on a character just to see themselves unable to access the game anymore not knowing that this could very well be a possibility to come.
But like I also said... it may NEVER also happened.

It's a good warning for players who may not have considered it. I haven't seen any explicit warnings of this possibility so I think it's a good topic.
That being said, I'll bet many international (non-asian) cSRO players move back to iSRO when the euro update is released. I think many players are getting their feet wet with the euro builds so that they can hit the ground running when iSRO is updated. They can be ahead of the game, so to speak.

why be passive and guess, ask them directly like a man.
i asked "其实国外的朋友可以玩丝路吗?会不会给GM封IP?" [Can foreigners play cSRO? will GMs banned ips?"
GM02 replied "玩家您好:
我们欢迎任何地区的玩家加入丝路,祝您在丝路中游戏愉快,谢谢!
感谢您对丝路的支持!" [Dear player: we welcome players from any region to play cSRO, hope you have a nice time in cSRO, thank you. Thank you for your support.]

You need to type corean letters to get to kSRO -.-'
손로슝
(Do that after me!)
(Ok, there's lots of guides of how to do that in here)
(But you can't use kSRO with english anymore, so majority of ppl quit it.)

Then again, speaking from a Chinese's perspective, the Chinese are known be very hypocritical and deceiving. So don't take the words for granted.

nations and races dont get along
america dont like turks, viet
brits sometimes dont like germans and french ( i personally dont but some do)
its fact of life racism happens thats why to keep a calm good gaming community they dont just have one big server for the whole world

rofl...they aren't going to do that for this game. Of course they COULD...but it's not going to happen. The only time I could see them doing that was if the server was packed with chinese players (it's not by far) and they started getting all these foreigners playing to the point it was causing server problems.
And even if they did that...you can get around it with a certain proxy program.

I used to use it for the jp version of this game
http://www.laghaim.com which blocked foreign ips. The program worked great but I stopped playing there to move to the thai version which was open to all.
