hi, does anyone realize that srf chat doesnt not work or has never worked ^^. does anyone or an admin/mod know when they can put in the chat feature? it can really coem in handy sometimes.

Zypher and I are in talks of getting a ventrilo put together, we just need monay donations =]

And yes, I think everyone is aware of it being non-functional

It has worked. When i registered on the forums last years i spent hours talking to people and asking tons of question . It's really useful when you are a newbie, because then you don't have to posts new topics, mostly in wrong sections.

If alot of people in SRForums use it, it'll be helpful.

i applaud your effort but this wont work. everyone will be talking at the same time and it would be chaos. the only thing that would work would be something like irc.

as for ther SRF chat, we have WAY too many users for it. it crashes in about 10 mins or less if it is up.

But how about a chat that would be off limit to most of the users. I mean a specific post count should be achieved, in order to acces the chat. That would reduce the vast majority of users which cause the chat to crash.

yea but then ppl would just spam to bring up their post counts so they could chat

yea it can be deleted and so on but it would still make the mods jobs alot more difficult + i don't even know if you can restrict the chat to just certaion kinds of members but if you can i still say there would be issues with spam even with deterrents in place.

Why don't we just have a Chat Server Limit? Like, you know. With the Image Verification Code and all, and the DC's?

I'd like it to work too, but as SG said there's just too many users. Might work better if there are seperate servers, and where you can see who's on and who isn't.
