Wow, I'm dumb.

I fell for a SRO phishing scam. I'm so ashamed. Although it was a pretty good one, if I may say so myself.

So, I received an e-mail today from joymax@silkroadonline.net. When I first looked, I didn't even notice the e-mail address. I simply read the Subject which said "[Silkroad Online] Update Your Account Information."

As I read it, I simply thought to myself, "Oh, they must be adding better password support or something. Ok." The link at the bottom of the e-mail, labeled "http://www.silkroadonline.net/" took me to this site.

Again, I didn't even think twice. It looked and acted just like the real SRO site. So, I happily entered my login information and click Log In. Which, in turn took me to this page. But wait, I took a peek at the URL of the page and noticed the ".net-member" part and immediately proceeded to slap myself silly.

After I was done sobbing from the pain, I went to the real SRO site and changed my password.

Moral of the story: Don't trust ANYTHING that says "Joymax" on it.

Yeah something like this happened before on the TS website. Got everyones email and told them there was a patch out. I always double check every update on the main site. and never click a link in a email

One should always know that no sites asks for "Updates to account". If you knew how many phishing Paypal emails I have received over the years, or bank account I don't own but I weirdly need to update my account ;)

Oh.. some are even funny.. if you don't update within like... 6 hours, your account will be locked and deleted... OMG!

I seriously don't blame you, dude. Those screenshots looked SO legit. TBH, I've never been the victim of a phishing scam, or even have someone try to scam me that way, but I'm sure I would've done the exact same thing as you did, if they had.
We just all gotta be more careful sometimes. 8) Good luck with your account. Hope you don't get it hacked.

My acct should be safe. They don't know the secret answer and I also changed my pw.

Yea, I was pretty impressed with the effort they put into the site. It even had the same mouseover effects as the real site.
