Question about drops

Is the drop rate independent to each person grinding, or is it the same?
For example, someone hunts a monster and gets a drop, if I were to hunt that same exact monster would I get the same drop?

The drop rate depends on the monster, not the person. Although, as your level compared to the monster you're hunting increases, the drop rate decreases after a certain point.

You won't get the same drop. Its all random in each area. Each mob drop a item in the range of a certain degree ( degrees 1 ~ 8 ).

So if 2 ppl were the same lvl, and grinding the same mobs, "grinder A" kills "monster A" and gets a drop, but "grinder B" kills "monster A" instead, he would not get the same drop?

If grinder B kses grinder A (does alot more damage to the mob) he'll get the drop.Gold, item, material etc will go to the one who did the most damage

If your saying if person a gets a drop would person b of got it, i dunno. I guess not it might be random for each person.

A monster is not "pre loaded" with a drop. It is determined at the time of death.

I'm not talking about ks'ing, I already know that, I'll ask in even simpler terms. Suppose grinder B were to go back in time before grinder A kills monster A that has a drop. Monster A, supposedly having a drop, gets killed by grinder B instead, no ksing, totally killed by on his own. Will Monster A have the exact same drop grinder A was supposed to get? No ksing, only a theoretical paradox that involves going back in time and getting that SoSun 64 glaive that monster A will drop before grinder B targets monster A, thereby giving me (grinder B) the glaive and changing history resulting in the destruction of the universe as we know it.

jk

But do you kind of understand what I'm trying to ask here???

Theoretically, yes you would get the drop in the scenario you provided above. The drop depends on the monster, not who killed it.

I'd say the equation was something like this:

IF Grinder A KS's Grinder B THEN GIVE_KILL
IF_KILL monster (GRINDER A) THEN roll_dice (2)
{IF_DICECOUNT = 12} THEN get Sun Drop.
{IF_DICECOUNT = 10-11} THEN get Normal DROP
{IF_DICECOUNT = 2-9} THEN get elixir
{IF_DICECOUNT = 1} THEN get Vigor pot

mine is more like this:

IF_KILL monster (GRINDER A) THEN roll_dice (2)
{IF_GRINDER A = PHIL} THEN HIDE_ONE_DIE (1)
{IF_DICECOUNT = 12} THEN get Sun Drop.
{IF_DICECOUNT = 7-11} THEN get Normal DROP
{IF_DICECOUNT = 1-6} THEN get 20-70 arrows

This is why some characters don't have any luck at all with drops!! You heard it here first, ladies and gents!!! LOL :D

I agree as well. Of course without looking at the code we wouldn't know for sure.

Why do I agree? Read on..........................................................
Example
If you go to destroyer rondo an item and you only have 4 slots available for the elements. The item doesn't destroy because it wants to give you a stone and you don't have enough slots.

You then remove something from inventory and try again, and guess what no freaken stone. :banghead:
So the item is not pre loaded with the stone.
