The most important thing is not to click on any of the links in the email, which may be masked to look like an official site.

This applies to any emails of this type - if you are not sure whether it is official, close the email, and type in the website address as you would normally. Then modify you account if you want.

Tbh if you fall for this you deserve to be scammed because:

1.) How did they get your email?

2.) In the email the http://www.silkroadonline.net link takes you to a totally different site. You can clearly see the change in the address bar.

Automatically looking at the Silkroad symbol on the top of the email you can tell its not legit. Some nub went on paint and crop'd it.

the scumer is n00b :P i dont agree to some links that said "IT WAS A GOOD SCUM" its a NO! if he is a pro scumer he would make a subdomain of one of good sites like update.com "just an example" so if he made a subdomain and host the files there it would look like http://www.silkroadonline.update.com "sample only"

Keep your shit private and you won't have to worry about getting wierd emails. The forum email can be different from the registration one. People who are just sloppy with everything and have all their info out there are usually the ones who get owned.

Most obvious sign it's not legit? The spelling. It's too good for Joymax.
