can someone show me how to do something with media.pk2, and edit it so i can swear, i get pissed cause i cant say ass, or wtf, so someone help?

SCArchon's Media.pk2 file allows you to swear. However, DO NOT ABSUE IT.
As far as whichever file and stuff to remove, I have no idea. If you swear, though, using Archons, can other people see?

well i tried it, but i dont want to get banned for all the other files, like the nuke, and stuff, i just want to swear

1. turn off num lock.
2. press alt + 255.
3. type whatever you want.

Swearing is bad for you, don't do it.

The only thing i am going to say is "abusefilter.txt"
and dont even bother with trying to fix GM names, they will ban you, AND accounts that comes from the same IP (accounts related to the GM one).

I never understood what you meant by the "GM names," Archon?

I don't know why you worry about getting baned for pk2 editing nukes and stuff if they can't be seen by other person than yourself... the swearing, in other hand, can indeed be seen by others, so if JM careed, you have more chances to be banned for altering the swearing thing, then the nukes and stuff...

i dont want to be a GM, i just want to say like wtf or something, cause i get very annoyed when im typing, then it dosent show up, but oh well if it dosent work, thanks anyways =)

It's because you're altering their files, I THINK - correct me if I'm wrong. However, I don't think JM is THAT stupid not to know about this PK2-editing craze going around, considering that some of it's been posted on the Official SRO Forum...
That said, if it was really that big of a problem, I would have expected them to have said something by now. But with JM in charge, you never know.

the alternative to altering the pk file so you can swear would to just not act like a little spoilt child and don't swear

Swearing is one thing, but having to retype/rephrase everything I say five times in order to avoid the filter is pretty bad.

Sometimes I can't even figure out what I'm typing wrong, so I just give up and don't even bother chatting.

would be better if theyd just make "****" of the swearwords.
would save us a lot of typing.. works well in a lot of other games.

"Ignition; Left; Right; Gas; Brake" hm... make that five. Tanks don't need keys, they are button activated.

Also, I don't like the swear filter either, but the worst part is you must retype like 5 times before you get it right. And as it was said before, sometimes you don't know what you're typing wrong so you just give up.
