Yes these will be fully editable.
They'd need a license from Joymax to host their own private SRO server. Sure, it can be done, but you need a license. If they don't have one, and Joymax finds out, I'm sure they'd sue. So if it does get put up, I don't think it will last long. Just long enough to possibly get some people's account info, the ones that are dumb enough to use the same logon info as they use in the real iSRO.
The way the emulator is coded we have encrypted the passwords stored in the database. So even if some one did create a account on a Private server using the same details as the offical servers, you wont be able to just open your database and view it and have some one elses account. The encryption was created by us so no it wont be a simply MD5 encrpytion or anything.
Well .. I can't prove it as like Pure said I don't have their ss's anymore sigh. And their site is gone obviously.
But it's irrelevant in the end. I for one will not be expecting this current emu to come out. If it does they'd try to make money some way or the other.
I understand where you are coming from with not expecting a release, this has been tried before but we are different as for the money making we only offer a subscription fee (optional) for our members on our forum, this helps with running the forum as said its a 100% optional dont want it? dont pay but you will still be able to download the emulator.
On further news, we have coded the emulator our selves. Thus for the name emulator it emulates the offical server software. Its coded from scratch in Delphi. We have not taken any code from Joymax... We will release the emulator for the intent of offline use only if you choose to run a worldwide server which kills the offical servers you are held responsible =p
We of course will offer guides and support if you require any additional help.
The whole emulation thing is kinda a grey area im positive it is illegal to run a server but developing the software im not so sure about.
Also if we find any private server charging monthly fees for people to play we will do something about it, donations are fine but you never take a F2P game and use an emulator to make it P2P.
Questions will be answered if you have any...
