Who would like to run his own SRO server if I may ask.. Will only be fun at a HUGE lan and just spawn LY and ISY at all gates ^^

If that happens i would becuase if you have heaps of people that play sro all start playing it have own guild and stuff u can have your own competitions too. ??? Will you be able to buy silk and have events for it ??

Didn't Dark Inc attempt this way back when JMerlin screwed all the bots over?

Hmm seems interesting enough, would be pretty awesome as Deacon described .. on a LAN just spawning uniques over and over again. Testing builds. On the other hand there would be no fun in playing real iSRO seeign as you can do and get more on the emulated one.

Not to mention the amount of people that will be abusing it.

If this comes out i will host 1 on a server and let it on 24/7 just for everyone that wants to come and i will ban all the bots out ^^ My whole union might follow then, i will just give them same chars as they got now, so they dont have to start over =]

People who signed up for private sro by Dark Inc got hacked afterwards.

they announced this some time back too, but never came lets hope they do it now, if serious parties are involved you can get a decent server running and if those guys are dedicated to the game you might get a nice pvp server for all those pvp junkies out there.

Nearly every game got private servers, even the oh-so-cool WoW ... so let's just hope it will happen ... a community of a controllable size would be neat

i wonder if it will be possible to change some settings like:

* amount of experience needed to level
* amount of exp / SP gained by quests
* drop rates
* difference in strenght between levels

That way this game could be more balanced and more focussed on gameplay and jibbing then the mindless grinding

If it works i sense a certian blader coming back

They'd need a license from Joymax to host their own private SRO server. Sure, it can be done, but you need a license. If they don't have one, and Joymax finds out, I'm sure they'd sue. So if it does get put up, I don't think it will last long. Just long enough to possibly get some people's account info, the ones that are dumb enough to use the same logon info as they use in the real iSRO.

what about clinet side files? aren't those copy righted?

yeah. but your not selling it, or claiming it as your own. your not giving it out to be downloaded either. ppl get it from joymax and install it on there own.
