Running silk road online from CD?

Can this be done? I don't have a large enough memory stick to run it on. I could possibly run it through an 20GB MP3 Player, but I was hoping CD or DVD was an option.

DVD possibly, but it would be very slow, and you wouldn't be able to update it, soo basically no.

Okay then, rouglhy how much HDD space is needed to run it. I am mates with the school IT techies, so I might be able to get them to give me enough storage space run it from.

My runs fine off my H320, so you should be fine, although it will probably be a bit slow.

Sure, it will run on a DVD, but very very slow, and you can't update it. What I did was, I copied C:\Program Files\Silkroad onto a DVD. Then if I want to play on another computer, just drag the Silkroad folder from the DVD onto the new computer's desktop. No need to actually install the software. Just run it from the desktop. When you're done playing, feel free to delete it from the desktop if you don't want it there anymore.

Silkroad will happily update itself when used on the desktop in this way. Keep in mind when you do this, you will be installing GameGuard on the computer, even though you're not really installing SRO. So you'll get entries on that computer's Registry and the like.

But hey, it works. I see no reason why it couldn't work on any type of removable storage as long as you can execute programs from it and it has about 1.4 gigs of free space to store SRO on.
