ill post it here because no one pays attention to the other forums..

me and my friend got in a argument today saying that ITS IMPOSSIBLE to destroy ur wep going from 4>5

but he said his was destroyed. because he was plussing from 4-5 w\o immortals.

and i told him hes an idiot because its impossible.

so is it possible or not?

I wouldnt say anything is impossible, but from experience, and the experience of people i have talked to, when going from +4-+5, an immortal was never used, but from +5-+6 or higher, an immortal stat was used. This has been the case with everyone i have talked to.

Normally, it's impossible. Otherwise it's a bug...?
If u check the menu Help (H) in game, there is a guide about it.

How's that related to his item being destroyed?

Mage, Maybe he actually succeeded with +4->+5 and tried to +6 without noticing the +5? Either that, or he's just lying..

Here is something i NEVER thought could happen!
He bought a SoS lv64+0 bow for 80m.It was a really nice deal.He wanted to go for the +3.When he made it +2 went for +3 it failed. He went back to his storage to get more elixers. He opened his inventory to get the SoS bow to try and +3 it again, BUT it wasn't in his inventory. He checked what had happend on the left window. The cursed SoS bow was destroyed :!: From +2 going for +3!!! WTH !??! and he had that bow for like 15 mins

Advice: use immortal at all times!

*wishes my friend had taking a ss of it*
He even reported on the official site but you know how JM is :(

Advice: That's totally impossible, it's written in the silkroad code that it can't get destroyed from +2 -> +3.. Unless it was a bug (which I highly doubt..)

I was thinking he meant he sat on it. :P
Imagine that. You sit on your SoSun+9 blade, it pokes you in the ass, and then it shatters.

I read it on SRO's website. It can get destroyed from 4->5 or get that 400% maximum durability repair invalid mark that you may or may not have seen. Make sure it's got immortal so it doesn't get detroyed AND steady so it doesn't get repair invalid status. That status means you can never repair it again and U only got 400% of the original durability to use it before it's destroyed. And OMG GRRR and 1/2, you can't disjoint items with repair invalid. I lost A LOT of money from not knowing that. I figured hey, they must be selling that so relatively cheap cuz it has repair invalid and will break but I'll get a ton of elements from it for that price! :x so I bought it and couldn't disjoint it. That sucked
Oh and also, your odds of getting +5 without failing are under 1:4 or 25% even with lucky powder so don't even try.

You cant get the "repair invalid" on it from + failing.
(This is only on items dropped by Uniques)

Close but no biscuit, you get "max durability reduced" its the egxact opposite to adding durability as a blue. Its still repairable.

if you read on sro website that its possible, ok..
but i havent read any posts of ppl that actually had it happen to them.

i dont believe most of what i havent seen :P

anyways it has never happened to me.

I can't believe people voted 50/50 for this. Never has anyone destroyed an item or had dura reduce from going from +4 to +5...

The only reason astral does go away after +4 and immortal/steady from +5 and up is because Joymax wants you to buy another astral when it fails so you can try again to get that purty purple glow..

So I repeat once again, your weapon can NOT be destroyed, and you do NOT get dura reduce from plussing from +4 to +5 and failing, it simply does not happen.

Anyone that says it did happen to them simply made a mistake or is trying be interesting.

It's not on the main site, and it's not possible with the current gamecoding :banghead:

I guess the guys that said he ate it/ sat on it are right! Or he accidentaly sold it to the npc. Or he just plain lied about it.

I dont know what website u are talking about. But this is what i found in ksro's home page.

강화등급이 +0 ~ +4 일 때 강화등급이 초기화된다.
강화등급이 +5 이상일 때 강화등급이 초기화된다. (항상 발생) 아이템의 최대내구력이 감소하거나 아이템이 소멸된다.

http://kr.silkroad.yahoo.com/gamesys/al_eqstrength.asp

It says that enchanting from above +5 will happpend the durability reduce
