parry = less chance of getting a crit ?

My guildmate told me, that the higher the parry on your equipment the less chance you getting a crit

Is this true ?
because criting is important for a bowman ( pure str-hybrid str )
so would it not be better then to get the lighting imbue because it lowers the foe's parry ratio ?

But you could receive a crit of lower damage than what they could get with their max damage crit.

Yep, only thing that affects higher/lower chance of crit is the crit of weapon you're using. Damage dealt is controlled by parry lvl on other char and hit ratio of attacker.

note - If they're using shield, that blue critical % stat could greatly reduce any crit dmg but won't reduce the crit probability itself :shock:

Other way around my friend, if you have 100% Critical Parry, it greatly reduces chance of getting critted but has no effect on the critical damage itself.

Pretty sure that is false. That it lowers the chance of them having a crit on you.
