When posting a screen shot of themselves in Silkroad, why do people black out their HP and sometimes their level? What are they trying to hide?

I would like noobs spamming me about:

HP/SP: Omg! Yu0. t3h haxx0rzz!!

Name: Omg! What a noob name!! My grandma's name is better..

Level: Wow!! You're such a high level! Give me 100k plyss!

I rest my case..

idk.. str/int on their or something? im lvl65 i have about 12k hp... idk if its good or bad

Some people just don't want to reveal their build/skills, and just don't like showing their name.

But seriously, most ppl prolly think it'll stop them from getting "hacked" when posting screenies, even tho there's like a 5.232% chance of that happening.

You forgot to cover the yellow sp bar, green xp bar, party members, the rest of the chat, your minimap, color dot of mob, character face, noob icon and your buffs. YOU LOSE!

i usually hide my name and sometimes my lvl and hp/mp too... but im not hiding anything strange, and some ppl know who i am in game.
its just that i dont want to show it for all, and in addition, who cares about who i am and my stats? :/

I think most people black out the HP/MP so that their enemies on the server they play on don't know alot about them, specially if their hybrid and want to keep their build a secret

this is a throwback to the times of silkroad betan and the 60 cap when you really couldn't tell much about a person by guessing their lvl based on what gear they were wearing. you couldn't add str, int, or HP to gear, so people tried to hide their HP and MP totals - as well as their lvl - because it gave away some of the advantage they may have in PvP. these days, with character generator applets and all sorts of alchemy goodness, it's not essential anymore, though some people have continued to do it regardless.

That may be true...but I doubt half the people here now played back in the beta

60 Cap was pwnage. Popping on Xian at the ferry was ownage.

Some people just don't want you to get any idea from their build because their build is "SPECIAL"

I do it because I'm scared of people and I dont want to show people the porn links I link in guild chat.

i used to be a schizophrenic..

but we're ok now.

I don't hide anything on my screens. Not much provided I rarely even post them anywhere.

Not cuz im afraid of being hacked, but I dont like people to know.

They black out the HP/MP so people can't see/criticize their build.
OR so enemies won't know how long/fast it takes to kill them.
