It depends how badly it lags for me. If it's bad or there aren't periods of no lag every 5-10 minutes, I just log off and find something else to do. I don't udnerstand how people can play through it and not go insane

i do all of the above, just depends on what's happening i guess

Usually I never really lag because my computer is more then capable of handling a few 50 people. I think lag probably either your internet or most likely graphics. I've had lag when I record videos with fraps trying to record botters but thats the only lag I usually get..

You should add the option "Switch to a non-laggy server."

When I notice lag from the following sysptoms:
*Auto-Pot more than 1
*Monster attack me first and I don't attack back even I press the immue keys already.
*Walk, Stop, Walk, Stop.

I do:
*Type the phrase "Lag Test" then count for responce in second.
*If less than 3 seconds, I continue.
*If more than 3 seconds, I stop and move to the top of Stronghold then sit. Then walk around to do "Lag Test" until lag is gone.

I got maximum lag is 9 seconds. I have 256 MB ATI 9800 XT Video card along with my background running (like 60+ processes). I never test if I start in Safe Mode with Network will run a lot faster or not.

I have crazy processes of following:
*Spyware? Not that huge. If that so, my comp would dead for long time ago.
*Ad-Aware (Ad-Watch)
*WeatherBug
*HDDLife
*MyVitalAgent
*Fraps
*Kaspersky Anti-Virus
*BlackICE Firewall
*Logitech Mouse & Keyboard Softwares (Around 2 processes.)
*ATI Video Card Uilites (This is like 5 processes.)
*QuickTime
*HP Printer Software
*Intel Active Monitor (Measure Temperature)
*And tons of Microsoft Windows processes due to I use Windows Plus! Theme desktop.

And guess how many RAM I have?
256 MB? No... This can't hold all that.
512 MB? No... These processes ate 550 MB RAM already.
1 GB? Man, I would get 2x lag in game then.
1.5 GB? Hmm... almost, but I still use more in Photoshop/Premiere!
2 GB? Yeah, that's right! I am crazy yes!

I usually just turn it off, I could carry on through it but that's just sad, with a scroll and no lag I can get 45%, without a scroll and no lag it's 22%, with a scroll when it's lagging I can barely make 15% which is really pathethic. I could get into a share party but who wants 0.02% per kill that's just depressing.

I used to like waiting for the no lag period which was just after midnight here but now I don't even seem to get that anymore

I've been stuck on level 53 for days, this game in it's current state sucks, sucks very badly and is just unplayable.

Your pc specs don't make a difference, it's the server that's too full, I have a powerful pc with a georce 6800 and I lag just like anyone else.

I thought the other servers would be different, but after a quick test today I've decided that they all lag badly.

I only keep playing so I can talk to Suicide lol

..yeah, the current state of sRO is just sad (i mean the gameplay). You cant even grind like you use because of much... not lag but DELAY. I dont know how some people manage to level and grind with this problem. Its just frustrating.. seriously. Too bad its a great game.

I have had huge lag the last couple weeks. It is definately not my graphics or my connection.

Yeah, I run Oblivion maxed, and it's definately not my connection. This game is just laggy ATM. It will get better.

the event makes people play more to get more, etc.

some people even start playing because of an 'event' then just quit afterwards

as for me, if it lags when i play, i wait for the 3 seconds it does and carry on, only losing a couple digits of hp.

my mana fucks-off somewhere though lol

Thats really funny though... I never really get lag... Even in Donwhang... The only thing I'm frusturated with is the Stupid Server Disconnect thing when you try to log on... It's enough theres stupid server traffic....

I play through until I:
A)Die from it
B)Disconnect when I respawn in Jangan or it gets too unbearable in Jangan

If it's reeeaaally laggy I log off and find something better to do with my life, only to come back about an hour later realizing i don't have anything better to do...

I just see if it logs me in to the character screen and if it takes over 3+ seconds I god mode it and play some other game~Kh2 ftw~

wow man heres some things to kill while your playing and in general cause they are only needed when they are needed.

Weatherbug - Personally i just look out the window or turn on the news that thing use to be spyware nto sure now but i still wont run it.
QuickTime - No reason to have it loaded if your not using it is my way of doing things.
AdAware (adwatch) - If your playing your not surfing so its just using up resorces.
and honestly anytime you use Themes on your PC your asking for more and more things to go wrong. Personally i dont put a picture on my desktop, i dont run any animated mouse. I dont use a screen saver, i just have it shut the monitor off. All these things will improve anyones system alot. The look of your desktop does not have to be the best, infact less is more when you talk about performance and video on PCs. If you like your game to look great then by all means keep it at 32bit color, but if your like me and you prefer performance over looks, then turn it down to 16 and you will see a good increase also. The video card and cpu have less to deal with then.

Just some ideas to concider, i always say terminate any processes that start automatically when you start windows. IE MSN Messanger, Yahoo ect any IM program does not need to start unless i tell it. This is for better performance as well as security.

about the lag, well if its more then 3 sec i say screw it and log out. Play BF2 or GW or something else. Infact this lag is making me concider a return to DAOC.

Since its not in the selection ill put it here, i play my other characters

typically i quit the game, as a nice gesture to the others who are trying to grind through the lag...



i think if everyone thinks "oh it will eventually go away" and then keep playing...

Whenever i get the slightest bit of lag i log out straight away because i always end up dead Plus my computer and my internet is pretty naff so its not a good mixture

When servers lag, it matters only a spec of what you connection and video card is. I remember on Saturday when I tried to play around 11:00 and at first it was perfect and I was so happy. Btw, this was in the city. Then after 5 minutes its like the whole server justs joined.

System specs dont affect too much:

I have nVidia 7900 GTX 512Mb
1Gb RAM
Forgot others stuffs but its brand new cause I made a new computer like 3 weeks ago from the best stuff.

i have no problems playing throgh the lag. just takes timing and patience. jobbing in it is no fun though since lag is different for different people.

I don't like to quit because of a problem all it means is that must stay away from mobs so not to lag,mob death

I time my attacks but, the lag usually can't kill anybody if they're only battling one monster. but when you're being gangbanged ur HP goes down so fast before you pot you're dead
