As a GM,

I would rather lose both guild war and job war than use mercs.

Mercs = Worse than calling in your worse enemies to come help you kill someone.

Also question: Are nuker mercs stronger for GM who is a INT, and is a heuksal merc stronger for a STR user? Just asking if the Stats of the GM affect the Mercs.

merc is for low baller... and people use nuker cause they often go for the same target and it kick ass if you nuke with them, and having ur merc around oyu make u hard to target

so yea if you have no ball and want people to laugh at you then use them

nuke mercs are best.

a saw a couple of heuksal mercs that used no skills. Bow mercs uses strong bow. dunno about blade mercs.

ppl often use merc when its an unfair advantage. But w/e if i need em i'd use them

I've never used them but that's only cuz I could barely afford one, GP wise anyway. But if something is there to use then it's there to use it, who cares what other people think lol, they wasn't added to not be used.

Have they really ditched them or people just never use them?

dont use mercs are for cowards. they are so easily abused its not even funny. i remember my guild on rome tried to rob one union trade run (6 of us against like 20+ of them) and 8 guild leaders all summon mercs. not to mention another union leader was there with his own mercs helpin them out. mercs jus ruin the fun out of fighting in groups

lol massive job wars look far bigger and kooler on vids if they have used mercs, makes it a challenge its no longer best gear that wins

there's pros & cons of mercs...but watever you do, never use str mercs, they suck, all just physical attks w/o imbue, weak

i am not using mercs ever again until joymax fixes that desuit bug.

Anyways, mercs are cool when you watch other people use them or if you use them yourself.
If someone uses them on you, then they're gay, lol.

If you are gonna be completely outnumbered, and would need reinforcments why wouldnt you use them? Just like if you are gonna get whooped most likely by someone or a group, wouldnt you zerk?

People bitch about zerk all the time, people bitch about mercs all the time. I mean why wouldnt you use them when you need them? So the guy laying on the ground wont talk shit after u kill him? Maybe most havent noticed, but kill people whatever way you like. They will almost always find something to talk shit about, so f that. I would rather survive then worry if some kid thinks less of me for summoning mercenaries.

I rarely ever use mercs even when I destroy a huge guild/trade run by myself. I have mercs in my inventory just in case some n00b summon mercs on me when it's 50v1.... since people just want to see me die and they will do anything to accomplish that.

I see nothing wrong with using mercs in guild events. They are a part of the game just as anything else.
And guild war is to see which guild is stronger. And if that also means which guild has enough GP to summon mercs, why not.

And saying summoming mercs is cowardice and unfair... Well thats the same as saying using SOSUN is cowardice and unfair. And I haven't seen a player yet that would unequip his sosun gear just so the fight would be fair.
Use what you can.

Besides if there is a big guild war - 2 full lvl 5 guild against eachother those couple of mercs doesn't give such a great advantage. With good coordination its easy to take them out. And fun ^^

Their you give a really good point indeed :O A well merchs are just 10 helpfull nukers ( for me that is )

actually someone who just buys up all the sosun is kind of cowardly.

Its one thing if you find sosun, or if a guild mate finds and one, and since he rox so much, lets you buy it at an affordable price. But to go out and buy as much gold that every gold selling site has available and then to buy every piece of sosun you can find, yeah that's beyond cowardly, that's just freaken lame.

But yeah for me, mercs = lame. I honestly get pretty pissed off even, if my union getting our asses whooped by full sosun boogers, and someone in our union decides to bring out the mercs, I feel ashamed...

llol like half of babel has sun now

There is a chick in troy who is a higher up in her guild I guess, and when I kept kicking her ass she asked the GM of her guild to come help her. She is 64 btw, and he is like 55 I think. Anyways, he came out and started hitting me for real low dmg and then suddenly I was surrounded by 3 mercs who were also hitting for low dmg. >.> I turned, killed the mercs, then the GM and then the 64 nuker. Lets just say they didn't spawn expensive mercs on me again.
