Why does 90% of the people I meet never ineract, communicate, or socialize at all? Everytime i look at the text box its either me saying hi to everyone or people trying to sell something items through the global chat. This game is so lonely, even my own guild doesn't respond to any of my greetings or attempts to start a conversation

Agreed

I've noticed it too, moreso than in other MMO's I've played. I've been considering joining a guild just because people in this game are so damn anti-social. Either that or they're all just bots -_-.

Because they are busy grinding and you're bothering them

#1 reason why ppl don't talk to u is cuz there botting

Yah most pople on silkroad are stupid but there are the really cool people who I talk too ^^

75% Are bussy botting
20% Are pissed about game flaws and don't care about community anymore, just are "leave me alone, i need to grind"
4% Are nice chat users
1% Vent-TS guilds who have fun despite the problems of JM crappy customer care.

This is just approximations. Not facts, but i'm pretty sure they are near to real numbers.

Because every time a "low-lvl" sends a pm its usually gold he wants..
Ill always answer my guildmates / unimates .

I always speak to players, unless he/she asking me for gold

O i aint doing so bad then I made a lot of friends when we were all low lvl, but more than half quit anyways

Well if we take in to account that around 90% bot. And we assume a relation between the numbers. You may have your answer.

As a side not I type and grind all the time. My guild/union uses vent a lot but there are still times that guild and union chat scroll at a wild pace. Finally if someone says hi I basically always respond unless it is followed by something like 10kPls.

Honestly if you are in with a legit group either they are not a close group, AFK, or botting.

Well lets see,

I have a good legit Union/Guild so they talk alot and are active on vent (So no complaints there).

If ur guild/union is quiet they are either Bots, Dead, or really lame.

I talk to ppl randomly around me who have look interesting like cool gear or just dont fit in this grind spot.

I talk make good convos with ppl who ks my giants and mobs then sorry thought u were a Bot (Thanks for asking before hand...).

Then i say hi to the new guy in my grind spot to only see him get stuck on the wall or a rock 5mins later.

Its not so bad, but good conversations are killed with the usual:

Bots, jerks, emos, beggars, attention whores, spam, advertisements, noobs, it goes on.....

I know what you mean about this game being anti social, but I think alot may have to do with language barriers aswell.

Last night on Zeus was weird, I was grinding away and I must have asked about 20 people to party up with me and they all refused, I was like WTF?!!? normally you can't move 10 feet without offers to join party.

Finally someone joined up with me and the first thing he says is
"YOU GIVE ME WOLF!"
I said, "lol why would I give you my wolf?"
"BECAUSE I DON'T HAVE ONE, GIVE IT NOW"

I laughed it off cause I thought he was just joking, but then he followed me around for about 20 mins standing in front of me, constantly trying to open a trade window with me and basically demanding I give him my wolf.
Finally I just booted him from the party and then used a return scroll to get back to town, it was really weird.

10 mins later I'm back in the same spot grinding again and someone else starts harrassing me demanding I sell them my wolf.........it was really really weird.

By the way, Hi, my first post is pretty long I know but I got so frustrated with what's happening over at the JM silkroad forums that I thought I'd lurk around here instead.

IM glad ive never had this problem

Every friend I have from this game is because I moved from another game onto this one with my friends from that game and then they made friends and it just kinda went like that, BUt i know what you mean about the globals etc, Alot of globals are flaming or selling stuff,

What server do you play on btw?

I cant grind and type at the same time, Im pushing 1,2,3,4,1,2,3,4,etc. When I log on nightbloom, 5,000 ppl PM me and I cant answer all of them.

I always talk on Vent tho, so the guild is encouraged to join, or else put up with me not typing much. lol

also to me it seems that:
1. higher levels don't talk that much (most in union chat are lower levels continiously saying what did have in a drop, how much SP they have how much % xp, if anyone wants to buy 1 elixir they just found,...)
2. if higher levels talk, they take time to talk. i have had evenings of 3 hours online with 1% exp added
3. people on gold time want to take advantage of that without losing any GT
