Kima's FULL Silkroad Report
Posted: Sun May 06, 2007 8:23 pm
I just recently posted this on the main Silkroad forums and I will post here for the rest of the community to read and in case it is deleted from iSRO for noting the truth.
I wrote:Again, it's me KimaEri.
I'm getting pretty tired of stressing these issues and tired of hearing everyone else complain about the crappy service Joymax is providing. This time I am formally writing a report to show EVERYONE, may it be Joymax or the users of the Silkroad community, of these issues.
1. Bots - There are two types of bots.
a. Player bots: Bots made by players with a normal bot program. This bot easily fools people into thinking its a normal player. Using skills, repairing equipment, buying/selling items. In essence...a way to play the game without actually playing. This bot is common and is usually overlooked because of several things such as the fact it does look like a player or there is silk bought on the account. There bots ARE NOT the problem as to the fact that they are eventually played by the people who watch over them.
b. Clientless aka `Gold Farming` bots: These bots are the bots that are guildless, no skills, only pick up gold and/or items and sell to NPC. They normally have names that are created with only the center line of the keyboard such as `sdsdjfj` these are problematic as to the fact that they have only one purpose. Making Gold!
2. Stalls - As much as they Joymax staff says that this is not an issue. It still takes up the bandwith of the server connection. Go into any town in the game, it is riddled with stalls. The ratio of stalls to bots is a lot more stalls than bots. I know people out there use multiclient on a specific computer of there own to put up 3 stalls or more. This problem is easily solved. Create a server system to make a merchant area. Weather it be separated per sever or all of the servers can come together. If all of the servers could merchant in one area it would save on server traffic by making just one area for all the stalls to go and would also maintain a flow of economy between the servers to keep the price of items at an affordable rate per ALL servers.
3. Traffic from larger countrys - Europe needs there own server system badly. Turkey is a large part of the iSRO userbase and due to the excessive gameplay of Turkish players, iSRO is clogged to its limits. This is not meant to push Turkish people away nor make racist comments about. The problem is that the Turkish userbase is even more than that of the American userbase. Turkey or even all of Europe should have there own server system.
4. The Rumors - Many here to be listed.
- Joymax is responsible for botting in the first place.
- Joymax has no intention of upgrading iSRO as it should be.
- Joymax cares only for the Korean userbase.
- Joymax is only in it for the money.
Ask yourself if any of these are true. If these were true Silkroad would not be a Free to Play game. Buy `Silk` at your own discression. It is not there for you to HAVE to buy. Granted that if you choose not to buy your gameplay will be prolonged. Now as yourself another question, do you want to shorten your gaming experience? If you are complaining that `this game is just a grindfest` or saying that its not fun enough. Chances are you should just stop playing. If you dont like the game. DONT PLAY IT. Simple enough.
5. Failure to Promote GM interaction with users - We have plenty of Game Managers that they should be able to interact with the users more. How do we know that they exist when all they do is come online and send a pre-typed message that is sent by a system program only to notify users of the same thing day after day? We, the players, demand interaction. Let us know that the people who watch over us are there. Come online, play with us, talk with us. Let us know you exist. Take time from your busy schedule and interact. Even that alone will bring hope to the Silkroad community that the Joymax staff actually cares. Just having a moderator looking at the forums telling is that what we are saying is wrong or that problems will be taken care of in the future is not enough. We are the players. Without us there is no game. Without knowledge of interaction of the people who care, there is no fun.
6. Hacking and Security - I have yet to be hacked. It could be luck, or it could be that I am just not worth the effort. I personally do not know enough about this issue to report on and the many threads and topics that note this issue do not make things clear enough to make note of. I do not think this is as grave of an issue as it is made out to be. If users are getting hacked it is there own fault for not keeping there account safe enough. Joymax is doing there best to make security better on all ends. Security on the internet is not a sure thing due to the barrage of programs that are made by professional hackers to make it easy to be malicious towards the people on the internet who just want to enjoy themselves and try to defeat boredom. There are topics and other reports spread across the internet to help you safeguard your computer against the threat of being hacked. Make note of those topics to help yourself. You can not blame Joymax if your account was hacked, it is the fault of the person hacking you and the fault of your own for not being safe enough.
Joymax, please note the articles here and make haste with what you are doing to inprove this game.
As for the users who play, please stop posting about the same problems day in and day out. Joymax will NOT fix these problems any faster if you constantly complain about it.
Thank You for taking the time to read this report.
