Astral and Immortal. If you can't afford much silk, buy a lucky stone or two as well. Other than that, pray. I've failed 14 consecutive tries from +4 to +5 on a 42 spear of mine, so good luck ^^
Something that helps is to awit after and inspection or server check. Just last night there was a server check on greece. When I got back on, ther was no lag, or barely anyone in Hotan. I went and + my sheild from 4 to 5 in 1 try (without astral/immortal/lucky) just lucky powder. Also, I + my entire prot. set to 3 with NO fails. Normally for me alchemy is a b1tch and i cant even get anything to 3. But, for some reason I was getting good luck. So, try and do the plus after a inspection, it could work for you too. =)

i once had a crappy lvl 32 +4 glavie, right before i went up to lvl 35 where
i had a glavie +3 and already in my invent, i found a weapon elixer used it on the +4 and guess what +5 without lucky powder what are the odds on that lol

It just takes luck and determination. Since you're already at 4, I'd do the item mall for immo and astral, so you don't drop it to 0 if alchemy fails. And you won't have to buy quite as many weap elix since you won't have to go to 4 again.
lol I've found a 45 shield +4 on my storage yesterday so I've tried an agility sotne on it, failed, br go to 13... so i'm kinda mad (it have no blue, no white just +4) and put a shield elixir on it, magic +45, might pimp it now ^^

Best tip let some one esle try (some one u know and trust) friend of mine gave his wep to me i +4 than some esle +5 in one shot for him w/o astral & immortal
Just don't try to get too addicted or greedy with it. I would just buy one astral/immortal, along with monthly gold ticket or monkey. And if it doesn't work, just astral again the next month. Assuming you'll be using the same weapon for more than a month, ie, 72 weapon....
Get it +4 and wait a day or 2.
Yesterday i made my bow +4 tried +5 and it failed. Got it back to +4 and then set up stall and went to bed. Woke up, and it went to +5 in one elixer with no astral immortal or lucky stone.

I'd have to say that this have actually worked a couple of times for me, not that I gave away anything but vice versa, I've +5ed a couple of weapons this way when they really had no hope left ;d
