Ok now that I got your attention :P

My news is less spectacular and barely anything new.

Have you guys noticed, that ever since the image codes arrived, that DC at startup only accur after the code?

Have you also noted that the DC-time after the code is aprox 5 sec.

Now.. If we can find where this 5 (or 5000ms) is allocated, we can make it longuer for like 15 minutes, giving us some time to catch the next empty spot.

I think this should be possible with a HexEditor, so join my in my quest for the Holy DiconnectNumber.

Most probably that would require illegal procedures.

You're stupid. Why don't you just click "Exit" when you fail to connect?
Those seconds between when you write the code and when you DC aren't there as a waiting period for you to get into an open slot. What happens is this.
You and 20 other people get the image code correct and do some preliminary handshaking with the server. One person gets in and the rest are ignored by the server instead of being sent proper closing protocol. This means you were briefly connected to the server and no longer are. The client is set to automatically time out after 15 seconds or so, which is the time period you're talking about. Extending it will only make it so that if you happen to DC in-game or anywhere else, the client won't recognize it for 15 minutes. The only thing to do is be the first one to get past the image code and let your client exhange data with the server.
Joymax shouldn't have made it connect after you put in the image code unless there really WAS a slot available, but they did. Get over it.

It has already been done a very long time ago, and if I'm not mistaken I think it's called SoftMod. I heard they modified the client to trick the server into granting the user an administrative slot so you will always get in 1st try no matter how crowded the server is.

come on, why is everybody pretending they don't read botforums, don't use bots, don't know sh1t about bots, we all know a sh1tload about bots. You've got to be extremely ignorant to not know a thing.

You can't get in first try with SoftMod, do you have any idea how extremely crowded the servers would be if it could? Man I'd pay 10$ a month to get in first try, and I already pay 10$ for gold ticket. I am paying for this game and I can't play whenever I want to and yet we can't complain about it because it's a free game. The irony.

I don't use softmod however I know people who do use it. With it, you don't get in on first try, but you'll never get d/ced at the login screen. Meaning...you can hold enter and keep trying without restarting the client. It also allows you to have awindowed mode. Howevever, you'll get banned for soft so I'd never waste my time on it...waste of startin a char only to lose it a few weeks (years?) later or however long JN takes to ban...
