Lol, I got hacked about 3 days ago...Im lucky i only lost my sos chest, money, all lvl 8 tabs and a bit of elements. The bad thing is, i would still play my lvl 69 char but i don't know the security answer .

How they ..... hack into my account?

I don't quit and I start over with lvl 1 char

I got hacked a while back but i didnt havea high lv character or a lot of items just money wolf and few elixirs but i was moving to alexander when it come out so i wasnt to bothered about starting again ....

i agree with the fact that it is a rather funny way of saying somebody broke into your account, stole some items and leaves you alone now.
if i played for months to get my account on a decent level, i would definatly be pissed off and shouted instead of laughin out loud

Or he just gave his pass to one of his friends, the guy says he isn't playing anymore but actually has an other acct. and found it time to transfer the items to his own.

This just reminded me to change my PW again. Thanks for the reminder. Now, is there any way to change your secret answer?

And BTW, everyone should write down on paper their basic account info and stash it in their room or someplace safe, so you don't "forget" your secret answer. Since this is just game info there isn't a huge chance of having someone obtain it if you don't know and hang out with players IRL.

Em, kinda cruel replys? Ofc it isn't fun, it's just bad habit hehe and I don't want to sware in this forum... Btw, I'm not a bot lol, 100% legit, played since end of May 2006, lvl 69 hacker took all lvl 8 tabs, 35mil, and sos chest=200mil, I had tons of tabs for selling. No1 knew my PW or ID. None of my friends act weird last days.
Btw 1 of my best friends got hacked 2 day be4 I got incidentally GS got hacked as well...

I thought the JM password screen only accepts alpha-numerics. Normally I use special chars in there but I believe they don't accept them. Do they take chars like $#!@%*?

Your password don't have to be complicated. It will take too much time to login during traffic. My password is my zip code and I'm a jackpot to all the hackers out there, and I've yet to be hacked. There's no such thing as hacking. Just don't bot and you won't get keylogged. Simple as that.

All passwords I have for everything contain a mix of letters, nums, and if allowed I use as many @&%!* as possible. I have no problems remembering them, or typing them. Same amount of time to type in 'bobseesme' vs 'b0bs5e35m3'. When I was in network security class they asked us all to enter a password into a file, each student, then the prof had me run a password cracker on it. Within two days everyone but mine was cracked, and with mine it only had the first letter, while everyone else was broken within the hour. It really does work, plus it makes it harder even if the "hacker" is trying to guess it, since there are a ton of ways to try even a single word.

The "hacker" sayd to my guildmate:
This PW was easy to hack, it is pure numbers. He even told him the right pw. More he sayd: Ill take that sos chest and money...

I believe he took ss of that...

AND, all my friends are not grown-ups and cant speak good english but the "hacker" talked GOOOOD english...

and now dare to tell me there are not such a things as haxers

I really would like to know how someone "hacks" the password for SRO. You can't bruteforce. You have three tries to get it right. You have to obtain the LOGIN NAME not the IGN. If you get the login name, you also have to somehow get the email. From there you have to somehow guess the secret answer, which I suppose is possible but again you'd have to be able to know who it is behind the account IRL and research them.

Since all of this info in unobtainable (outside of the forum problem that gave out the login name and email), the only other ways are, the info was GIVEN to the 'hacker" for some reason, like buying gold, buying silk, etc. OR, the person was keylogged ("hey try out this bot, no one will know. Just bot an alt char and give the drops to your 'legit' char!!"). Period. Unless you want to tell me they hacked the SRO database, in which case the person could just insert a record and items into their inventory directly, why would you bother with stealing someone stuff if you could just give yourself SoSun everything with +100% stats, make yourself capped, full skills, etc.

So you friend that was hacked lied to you in some way, they must have either tried to buy gold/silk, or was botting with a keylogged bot on an alt char. There is no other feasible way they could have obtained the password.

MAN, Why should i post it here if i know it is my fault when i boted, but i didn't, don't ask me why i got hacked, ask it from hacker. The email u can get from forums, same is with ur ID, PW...I have same PW as i have in SRO...Is that enough? And my friend didn't lied WTF, he says he got hacekd and he starts over again from lvl 1 with me? We both wasted real money on those chars(he's lvl 67, I'm 69). Why would he lied? Gimme 1 good reason and I maybe believe you. Watch this, u get hacked in some day and i wanna see how u react if others reply u answers like u did, u stupid dirty low bitch
