Well, i see this as a petition.
A petition against Rev6. They are literally minding business they shouldn't. Breaking into peoples privacy.

I don't want my gear to be shown on there, if it's sos/som/sun, if its +5.

Do you?

joymax wrote: Regarding re**.com Notice

Date : 3/27/2007
inquiry : 10492

Recently many players got nervous about outflowing information and hacking damage from re**.com, because characters and items of certain players were searched in the corresponding website.

We have investigated the site, re**.com, and have found out the results listed below, so there is no need to feel uneasy regarding this issue.

* The site is written in special mark to prevent players from clicking the link.

[Results of Investigation]

1. Corresponding website is not a hacking site of our Silkroad Online server, but is rather a scanning site of players' PCs.

2. Scanning can be progressed by re**.com, using information achieved from their site visitation and registration, or when a bot program is used, through the help of a virus program.

3. The information that can be scanned is very simple, as shown in their website. Other important information such as password is safe from this scanning progress.

4. For secure game play, please restrict yourself from visiting re**.com, and run an anti-virus program at least once a week.

there, even JM says they break in your comp.

Its pathetic and i seriously would have the guts to sue them.

LOL bro, go in search player field and type ur name.
GG you just found your armor(EXACT stats) /guild.
(Your account is YOURS, they are ILLEGALLY getting the information, like JM said.)

Btw rev6.com is a website that shows information about players.

It has a n00b list now, lmao.

That's because you only just started. Go look at high lvl players on any server, you can see ALL their gear and their exact stats.

WRONG. The account belongs to Joymax, you are simply using it.

They also know the amount of inventory spaces you have, which is the only thing that alarms me because that isn't something you could "see" or guess while playing.

Neither can they know if your item is sos/som/sosun / exactly how much defence/attack it has.

this information has been always available, you just needed the knowledge to get it and that is what rev6 is doing and showing to everyone what is possible nothing more
Joymax should prevent people from getting such kind of information or stop telling lies
seems like they (rev6/nymble) are trying to help the community and the only thing joymax does is fight back while they can coorperate
What did it take to actually wake up Joymax about their security on their website?
i am waiting on the reply from rev6 about this notice from Joymax.

From what I can understand they have characters on each server located in Hotan (They didn't detect any of my characters that were never in Hotan) and they scan/packet-sniff everyone's gear. I doubt they actually hack into people's computers. They just know what to look for when the Joymax server sends them packets and they do it. Joymax tries to act like professional but how long did it they say "account-hacking" was a total bullshit until recently?
PS: This is reasonable assumption of mine. Not a fact.

They don't break into your computer, their bot just joins parties with other bots and records their levels on a list in the new servers or something similar.

you know.. when youre connected to a silkroad server, your computer will recieve information from the server. the network packages the server sends to you contains information on how your client shall visualize people and surroundings.
now, according to rev6 these packages also sends information on what kind of gear it is youre wearing, not only what it is supposed to look like to you. in other words, the bot doesnt do anything other than list up what the sro client does not, whenever the bot sees you. the lvl of your gear, type and so on. its all there in the packages you recieve. all the time.
