How is joymax doing this banning thing, do they get bans from pming and bug report or they finally using a program to detect bottters?

Dam when joymax gets to pacificc, ther goes 95% of my guildmates...

They CANT use a program to detect botters.

Its all by "investigation".

I'm wondering the same thing.

Maybe Joynax saved up all the bot reports for a ban party.

I do have programmer knowledge.

Rev6 says alot things. Says it is anti-bot but it made a bot. :?
JM does not scan the client, the computer, anything. Also, how would bots act ANY different than a normal player to a computer? They dont.

of course they do. they pick up gold before u can even see it. and rev6 first made a bot then decided to be antibot and stopped releasing the bots they made.

if you have programming knowledge please make me a simple calculator right now ^_^!

jk dont do that.

They should be able to do plenty of things, on both the client and server side. In the client they should be able to detect if the char is taking actions without input being received, if the bot program is reading packets and sending it's own info to the server (witnessed by the bots that respawn before hitting the ground/getting the dialog box). Server side, they can detect waypoints used by the char, and any char found hitting these waypoints constantly can be flagged. If they did this server-side that is very possible, no client updates needed, it would be totally stealth to the botters.

Input is recieved exactly the same as normal. And just so you know, you get the "respawn" screen before you hit the ground.
Fraps it and go very slow mo. Bots just click it faster than you can see.

Those bot programs send their input into the sro_client.exe? I assumed they simple sent their own packets to the server with the commands, and send the return packets from the server to the client. I have never seen the bot program so I was unsure of how it appears.

Either way, JM could add a function in the server to red-flag certain way-point patterns and usages, then store them in a DB for human review. And again, we would be none the wiser because it all happens there and requires no update to our clients. I know JM is aware of waypoints as MD posted on the forum in answer to a question about figuring out who is botting, she said waypoints as one of her top detection methods.

Because he stated in his 1st post that 95% of his guildmates bot, and he doesn't want his guildmates to be banned.

Watch a bot and then say that. Bots send party invites to people they should not be able to. That is different from normal players. Bots can mass stand on the exact same coordinates without using trace etc. Normal players can't do that. Going to train there are some exact spots that each bot hits every time exactly. Also impossible for a human. Need I go on?

What programmer knowledge do you have? no offense but was it printf("hello world"); ?

So when do you decide where the point is normal players "can't click" certain locations on the ground? Just imagine yourself clicking randomly right to Hotan herbalist ending up at the exact same bot-buying-spot and getting banned. You can click there if you're far enough away and don't see the players.
MastaChiefX is right.
