With all the attention being given to "The Bot issue" one has to ask themselves.

What do you want Joymax to focus on?

Do you want them to continue the endless chasing that all games go through for "Autopilot" players (no game ever wins this war)

or

Do you want joymax to update content and give us cool events and new items etc...




I have read many comments from MD stating that none of this can go forward until they clean up the bot issues. So again this begs the question..

Is the problem that there are a lot of 'Autopilot" players on the server or is the problem that a few anti-botter activists have gathered the mass noobs together and are making so much noise about it that joymax cannot do anything but police and address the 100's of stupid posts in their forums from latchkey 12 years olds claiming that so and so is botting or so and so sold him 10 arrows for 10m... Mabey its time to either shut up or leave, but either way free up joymaxs hands so we can start having fun again.

And I didn't mean to come across as badly as I did. I just wanted to provoke some thinking. It has been absolutly painful trying to read the official forums.

People will always cheat. Its competition, people will always do it.

You are saying, what the hell, screw even trying to stop they and just focus on normal stuff. And tbh, I agree with you. They have such an epidemic in BOTH ISRO and KSRO that I dont see why they just dont give us what KSRO has.

there will always be some one that programs a personal bot, but get rid of widely used bots and it would help a whole bunch, but that wont happen because they get a profit from the bots. This game is screwed

Once a cheater, always a cheater.

look at it this way:
jm has lost against bots, and until they have 3 gm on every server 24/7 they will never win. the only way to beat bots is to make botting not worthwhile. how do we do this? by making the game more fun. so far, most of the updates jm has made are only fun for lvl 50+. if jm gave us everything that korea has, i think the game would be 100x better. maybe botters would turn legit b/c they would actually be having fun. if anybody has ever played WoW, you can see what i mean.

runescape is a useless game that i wouldnt spend my real time on so i botted. but SRO..... sro is a different story.

id rather see new stuff.

I had some pretty effective ways of ridding myself of bots on my VCTF / TAM UT Servers as well.. I would catch you eventually.. But the difference was I didnt waste every single day going through all the logs (I had busy servers) and banning people. I spent my time improving my mods and adding new content and toys. Once or twice a week I would go though my detector logs and ban the offenders. The difference is you had to buy the game and a Key that could be globally banned.. so getting caught cheating would result in not only a key ban but a global ip ban as well. Cheating was not a huge problem there.

Very rare to see EURO character botters btw. 30 Sec pot delay kinda screwed that over. You still do it probably though.

mabey they could give us a bunch of new content and once that is realeased work on botters for a while then work on more content ect...and keep both sides happy

dude your so true cant joymax just admit defeat and just start adding the new things to silkroad like europe if tehre werent so much problems maybe it would alredy be in the map but some people that cant play fair have to go and ruin it for all of us they should just take 1 day and go around all over silk and any botters just ban them no question asked!

I voted for the second option because they seem to only update the servers with new stuff slowly, not fix old problems (like bots and glitches

I can guess their trying to get some kind of control on the cheaters in game before they give us some more attention and better service?

Although it dosent make much sense that they dont just ban all the bots and fixs all the issues right now (Can't be too hard to understand what to do).

It has to be a money issue with JM right now.

i dont get what you mean. are u trying to compare runescape to wow? how can u compare a multi billion dollar corporation to jagex?

wow has 1000s of employees dedicated to just serving there customers.

for a java based game like runescape the couple of 100 employees they have do a bang up job.



Jm on the other hand dont care about iSRO even tho they get more money from it.

u cant compare anything to WOW nothing at all. except final fantasy maybe.

Well I'm not going to compare but look at WoW they have hardly "any" bots (I'm not saying they have none though) and it's because when you get to high levels your "almost" forced to join a pt for those big bosses and of course the dungeons. But sro on the other hand is pure solo which is why there is so many botters, simply sro has made it easy for them.

Not only that but the pots...kind of need to be nerfed alittle (lol get ready for the flames...)

it is a known fact that WOW scans ur computer for any foreign programs running like bots and bans u.
