If you had a choice of +3 to +5 gear with great Blues, or plain SOS, what would you choose and WHY.

EXPLAIN YOURSELF.....DAMMIT

STR=more HP and damage
Parry ratio=reduces damage
HP increase on head legs and pants=self explanatory
INT=more damage

VS

SOS=increased defence

Let me repeat myself, I dont care if you have 8 lvl80 characters, WHY do you think one is better than the other.

It depends.
Imo: str/int/hp is the most important in gear. But i hate alchemy.
That's why i always by pimped sos gear.

Sos, you can always add blues to it.

*Edit* In that case have to blues coz of INT STR and HP/MP

Hes asking would you rather have more hp/int ... or more defense

The +5's one because is cheaper, and blues are important for reinforce defense).

When I was 55 I got 54 sos garm shoes drop, however I already had 54+3 with 4str 3 int, I couldn't be bothered to waste the money so I just sold the drop.

Blues, the extra hp lets me take alot more damage

I think good blues are most important, but there are so many plain sos items in stalls. Sometimes full sos sets with little to no alchemy on them.

Also at what level do you think alchemy is worth it. Right now I alchemy all my gear if its sos or higher, but i doubt I will get my money back when I sell it.

I started alchemy at 7d. Before that I just stoned any int/str tabs I got and made a lot of money ^_^

Well since alchemy is possible on both, id go for the sos.

I am asking If you had a choice, one or the other.

Either blues OR SOS.

Blues. HP/Dam/Cheaper

blues for protectors and trying to get the best weapon you can.

SOS: higher stats, more attack rating, more phys. and mag. reinforce and u can add blue.
They'd better change some alchemy settings

Which is better defense:

SOS chest V.s. chest with max hp and str on it (not plussed)

SOS CHEST...

SEAL OF X is always better since its stats are better and u can add blues in it...

I'd rather have blues for my degree. Tough if it was a degree 5 and under item, I'd rather it be SoS.

Probably because you can put blues on sos. But you cant put sos on gears.

Blue, since it +5 already almost the same color grow

Sorry for the confusing question. I am gonna change the question a little. Which is a more effective defense. Either sos, or hp from blues.


Its kinda like the ice vs hueksal debate.

Then is your answer different if the non sos is fully pimped, whith parry, int, and a couple of plusses.

it's true wearing a pimped up blue piece of armor will do you more good than just a plain sos. you can kind of think of a piece of plain sos as a +5 normal item with higher base stats.

they would probably cost around the same if the sos was plain, but that's the point of having sos. you could definitely pimp up the sos item until it had the extra blues.

SOS items are not meant to be used 'plain' if you are trying to get a godly set.

in the end, sos would still probably have the higher resale value...

all in all, this is asking something like.. having a small shabby house with a lot of nice stuff inside... or having a big nice house with nothing inside..

no point of having a big house without putting useful stuff inside.
