What has become of us???

Post by Stress »

The game changes personalities. The addiction can be deadly indeed. It kills your willpower. You cannot quit, and it shapes your whole life. Your actual existence revolves around a virtual reality. What has become of us??? maniacs addicted to an enviroment which does not acually exist?
I'm looking at myself. In real life, I am a quiet person and rarely curse, but when I play Silkroad, I suddenly turn violent and curse every ten seconds. I look at me, yet I cannot recognize me. Who is this maniac, and why is he behaving like that? Is it really me?

This gives me a lot of thoughts lately. I'm thinking seriously of dropping Silkroad and any other MMO alike. Yes indeed, I come in contact with my friends, and get to have fun, but the price I pay for it, destroying my own life and personality, is too much to pay. I'm doing terrible in school lately, and I have a big exam ahead of me. What's going on? I find myself unable to study, because of the addiction to a non-material enviroment.

I'm not known around here, and this might well be ignored, but these are just my thoughts, and I was wondering if anyone thinks the same.
Carry your cross, and I'll carry mine.

Been there done that and gotten over it.

If you are feeling that way quit online gaming immediately and change your mindset.

Like seriously, don't postpone, it will only get worse. Give all your friends your items, delete your character and unistall sro and enjoy life more.

I blame my family for letting me do this. They have allowed me to play, but now, they can't make me stop. :(

I wouldn't go that far, to a rehab facility. People need to control themselves, but I cannot accept that my own life is slipping away from me.

Step 1 - Put items etc on friends acc you trust or on an account of yours.
Step 2 - Delete Characters, but joymax very sneaky 7 days waiting ;)
Step 2 (other choice) - Give char pass to a GOOD friend someone in IRL and tell them to change it and not tell you until you have a life ^^
Step 3 - GET LAID!

gg theres a 85% chance that u will remain a hopeless gamer who always tells themself in the beginning of the day "imma quit" later they play a marathon.
You gotta have un breakable will when u do something like this go to korea for rehab if u need, sounds reasonable to me $2000 for getting ur life back

Why are you still here? Go log into sro and give those items away >_>

It will take a lot of courage to do it and you may feel bad afterwards but in the long run it will help you immensely. Don't let the game destroy you, get out before any furthur damage can be done and start studying for your exam

WTF? I'm 14 :) . I've got everything in front of me. How can I just stumble in a bloody game, and not be able to quit it. :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: Gonna do everything possible, except for the bloody rehab facility.

You don't need to go to a rehab facility, sheesh. You can get support from your friends, family or even a school counsellor. I'm being 100% serious when I'm saying you should quit. Luckily, you are just 14 and still have a lot ahead of you. Don't let any online game take over your life. If you are feeling that way about your life you should realise the only way you can heal yourself is to get away from it. Same concept as smoking. It's hard going cold turkey but it is worth it.

Once again, stop posting here. Log into sro, give items away. Uninstall sro. Enjoy Life xD

If you can't bring yourself to do this you are only going to end up hurting yourself even more.

XuCHu Get serious please? Rehab is for people who play 20 hours a day don't go to school/work and take out loans to pay for the game. Not for a 14 year old who having social problems. Just shut up k?

u obviously have no idea how korean gaming rehab works they say average 3 1/2 hrs a day on games and is a symptom of addiction
thinking of things related to games is also a symptom
always day dreaming about it is another symptom

"It's just a game" -_-

Seriously, though I can see how you've become sucked into SRO. However if you don't set up measures from the start I'm afraid you've set yourself in your own trap.

Take it as a game, chill out when you're playing it. Drink some green tea, put on your favourite album and just chill. Then once the music is over and you're all tea'd up - log off. It's simple as. You'll always have the chance to do that 3* Trade Run or to earn those gold coins for the SoS Bow you've been eyeing up. However, you won't always have the chance to spend time with your family, laugh with your friends or rock the boat with your other half.

It's one or the other. Either take the game at face value, as a game or stop playing totally.

My Parents are trying to quit my addiction. They currently moved my computer next to theirs and my mom is right behind me. So it is going well I guess lol.

i'm like the same.

IN rl i'm not really a loud talking person, i do socialize though.
But ingame, i flame the shit out of everyone as much as i can.
and i like it.

I mean, it's just a game you can do all you want
joymax dousn't care shit about how you are. they just want you to play the game and buy silk.

Don't be so afraid, it's not addiction wich makes you into this
it's because you know you can do everything unpunished ingame

Forgot to mention, this game isen't taking over my life
The reason why i act violent is to show my hate against joymax :)

You know. At least I have some benifits. Buying silk is not implemented here in Romania, so I haven't spent a single cent on the game. At least this gives some relief.
