All you high lvl guys that do the theif job, do you guys level up your force to get harmony rings? i would think that would help keeping the theives off your own trade. I am wondering this and thinkin about lvling up force, but i dont want to waste SP and i am tryin to stick with a pure STR glavie guide. So i would like some tips from you pro theifs out there :D thx

dont get killed by hunters or merchants and kill them can help u be a better thief

also be high lvl and summon trans when a lvl20 merc comes so npc theifs come and kill that merc = free loot on the ground in less than 1 min 8)

i lvled my harmony once. im also str glaive, but i bought it out of frustration because of the damn tigers in jan lol. it helps a little, but you dont "need" it. on the other hand. my friend has lvl 4 i think, and that can help when you need to hide and you're doing a 4-5*. so really it depends on who you thief with.

*edit*

also dont go on a hunter/merch killing spree. unfortunately we thieves get arrange points. hit over 3000 and you become wanted. i dont know the exact amount you get per kill, but its over 100, and 1 arrange point goes away every minute. and while your wanted hunters can kill you even when you have your suit off. so i avoid killing merchants unless i have too.

i didnt bother with a ring. jsutstay in buusy spots as npc thiefs will only go on you or you camel if theres noone else in sight. i lose most of my thief by them rubbing on to level 20s

nice pics guys....so no one uses the ring to keep them off when you have lets say a 4 star? lol....someone should go to botter areas and make a ring with their trade and spawn npcs on bots all day :)

Get a half decent computer so you can put the draw distance up as high as it can go (its suprising how many people cant do this) so you can see other people from a distance and the majority cant see you. Helped me lots of times while theifing.

Once (before cap i think) a lvl 70 hunter was camping at some goods on the floor. I just stood to the side and watched him until he eventually ran off. :D

Yeah it takes quite good specs to be able to run background distance on 5.

I have a amd athlon64™ 4600+ x2 with 2 gigs of ram so for me its easy :P but my older comp was a intel 2.66 so yeh that REALLY suc.ked.

My Core2Duo E6600 + 2GB ram also runs it pretty well. :)

But ya...to be good at thieving you need to be a high level and 1* pop.

This game runs on much lower specs too...

I have an AMD Athlon 64 3800+ 2nd gen, 2gigs Corsair heatsinked pc3500, and an nVidia 7900GTO 512MB non-o/c'd. I run the game on max settings fine.

Thats now a "slow" comp (im think you mean that because you quoted me)
3800+ 2nd gen and 2 gigs or RAM is really good as well..

Have you not seen recent gen comps? I hate intel, so I am waiting for AMD quad-core since it almost always outdoes intel.

Core 2 Duo QX6700 - $900
ASUS Striker Extreme LGA 775 - $350
Seagate Cheetah 15K.4 150GB 15,000 RPM SCSI - $1000
4G OCZ Titanium 240-Pin DDR2 800 4-4-4-15 - $500
2x GeForce 8800 GTX SLi - $1000 ($499/ea)
KILLER NIC - $250
Sound Blastery X-Fi - $200

A rig like this would decimate all games...

you need atleast a 800 watt powersupply for a rig that has just those graphics cards. Something like that would probably require a 1000watt+ one. lol

And my motherboard can hold 8GB of ram (more than that spec has). Of course you would need vista to use thta much though, lol. Anywho, this topic was about theifing, i think we are going a little offtopic :O

at lvl 80 4&5 stars on a ox are hard to handle because npc thieves do much dmg to the ox, that disapoint me :s well it's possible to handle it but if a hunter attack the ox will surely die. horse3* + is getting hard to handle too he dies quickly <.<
it was easier to thief at the 70 gap :(
however i don't recommend to lvl up force, fire light cold and the weapon mastery are more useful

That's such a fuckin overkill it's not even funny, I had a 8800gt in my rig and played BF2142 1280x1024 MAXED without lag.
