This is my metaphoric theory behind bladers with HIGH BR

My theory is that bladers with a "very good BR" essentualy cause any opposing player in pvp to have a "crap weapon" even if it is a good weapon!
note this statement.
(TAKEN DAMAGE = TOTAL DAMAGE TAKEN - BLOCKED ATTACKS)
This statments can be turned around to be seen in a different light. Instead of saying you just block some attacks you can say.
TOTAL DAMAGE TAKEN = AROUND HALF OF ALL ATTACKS TAKEN
NOTE only around half if you have a high high br as i said
This statments suggests that the damage you take from anyone is always goin to be around half of what it would be without a sheild.
Il explain
If a blader blocks around 3/6 hits . With HIGH br only. This is half yeah.
So in these 6 hits u take say 12.5k damage. This would have been around 25k if you didnt block any. So what is this equivalent to?
Its the exact same as takin around half the damage of each attack that the opponent succesfully hits you with. look
example.
(if hits you with 5k,5k.5k.5k.5k,5k and you block 3 of them its the same as them hiting you with 2.5k.2.5k.2.5k.2.5k.2.5k)
Follwing me?
This means that the weapon damage out put is around about halved from the oponent.
So you see? this is why i say a very good BR makes any oponent have a crap wep. Or shall we say, reduces there weapon damage output by ALOT lol
This thread is very metaphoricle but if you can understand it. its very true.
This is all about cause and effect of a high BR. looking in depth at what it actually means apart from blocking random atacks.

Hmm. I gotcha. Never thought of it in such a way. But no matter your weapon, if you cant one hit someone, you need a series of moves to take them down, usually quickly. If they block your key moves or half all your attacks, Doesn't matter what you have.

Satman what does that mean lol. did u even read all of it ?
yep thats the key point. if you cant 1 hit some one you need a stategy. and as half of all atacks will be blocked/all atacks are halved. it makes it twice as hard to kill the blader

well, i follow you... but i disagree...
it also depends on WHICH skill the block blocks... because if the block blocks a couple weak hits, and then you get slammed by a couple hard hits from hard hittin skillz... you are still screwed.

yeah true but thats the name of the game. Everything to do with pvp blocking crits and what have you is randomised. We cant bring that into the convo as its true for everything. But in general i think my point still stands. Its obviously give or take here and there. But as you may block some weak atacks... you may also block some strong ones... hence balancing things out

But many times those big attack are what knock your hp down, those little hits finish you off. If they can't land hits in succession quick enough, you are already potting back up the hp you lost from those big hits, and still hitting them. No matter what hits they block, if you dont get lucky and finish them off in a couple hits and need a few diff moves to finish them, enjoy pvping a while.

I would agree with your theory but I have always opposed the importance of BR as a single stat.
br on itrs own is often seen as a gift from god however i disagree br can win a battle yed but on its own it ownt win a war. people often neglect a shield with say an 18 br and think that it is good enough as it is however that is a mistake.
The ultimate shield isnt one with a good br its one with 100% crit pary and a good br. I had a br 18 shield with a maxed crit parry and I took less damage than i did before I added the crit parry because you dont get hit by the crits as much there for halfing the damage again in some cases.

Not ENTIRELY true due to potting and the time it takes these hits to charge/cooldown:
If I have 10k hp, and you hit me 6 times for 2.5k, odds are my pots are going to pot away the damage before you even get me to half health.
If you hit me 3 of those times for 5k, there's a good chance that you're going to be out damaging my healing ability. And depending on the placement of those hits (say, 1, 2, 3 hit and 4, 5, 6 block) I'm dead.
A shield IS very important. However, it doesn't make a good weapon bad. It might make a mediocre weapon useless against you, since it DOES raise the damage/time you need to take to die. However, 20 BR with 100% crit parry won't matter when that crit DOES get though and does more dmg than you have HP remaining.

you got a nice linear understanding of BR, but seeing all the replies of these, people, there's lots of things to consider in pvp than just br.
by the way, what is supposed to be your point with your analysis on br? that it should be maxed out? people will gladly do that anyitme to get a better edge. every little bit counts, yes. but then again, ocnsider those times in between "blocks" where you can be critted, stunned, frozen, nuked, burned.

Strong blader in garms + good br shield = no fun for nukers

to tell you the truth there's really no difference in high BR compared to low BR
i use 14BR shield w/ maxed 2nd book of shield technique (32% BR increase & also have 7% BR from passive) which would make arnd 14+32+7=53BR, & i still dont block more than half of attks
HIGH BR IS JUST GOOD FOR RESELL!!!!!!!!!!
i didn't understand anything you said, to me BR is still something having to deal w/ luck

if you didnt understand then i cant do anything about that.
My underlining point is basically that the shield block makes oponents atacks significantly less. not by the damage they do each attack. but by the total hit they siccesfully hit u with because some "miss" you. Hence making there "overall" atack damage much less on people with good block
And there are obviously other factors to consider. But lets be honest about BR. BR comes by having a shield. shields block! simple as. so therefor in general my point stands. You cant bring in other factors. That can be done with any attribute in game. wether it be crits or kd chance % or stun chance or anything
The example i gave was for blocking half attacks. Your never going to block half 24/7 but i used that as a example easier to understand ith 1/2 rather than 3/7 or sumthing. And its in general. prob less but formula is still the same
And yes. Stones ect also help you take less damage and avoid crits. But i wasnt making a topic on that. Its about BR

not at all,
potting 2.5k is a lot easier than potting 5k.
if i do 5k damage twice and they have 10k hp theyre dead.
2.5k they can live forever potting. you just gotta be lucky they dont block.

no. like i said im not talking about pots or anyhitng like that. i also said you cant bring things like crits stones and pots into this thread. im talking about BR nuthing more. this is generalised around BR . i didnt mention optting or anything. If yuo add these things then yeah outcome is different.
you no if you want to bring other things into a thread why not talk about SOM ans SOSUN owning all lol. Its irrelavant.

lol....you are a kind man to forgive.
@ poster. metaphorical? there is nothing metaphorical about this post. there was no metaphor. You just said that having a BR equals reduced damage ...then you said the amount its reduced is half for high BR. There is no metaphor because those two thing are RELATED highBR--->lowerDAMAGE. a metaphor would be "dumb as a doornail", which may or maynot apply in this case

erm not really. there are other ways to refer to methaphors other than using "or" and "like" lol.
And dont be a idiot and put ur post count up by relpying to a "word" and not the topic. very sad
