Ideas for Custom Events

Hello!
I was thinking of implementing custom in-game events.
I'd like your ideas as to the mechanics, prize, the works
Something even 5-15 can participate is better...
Restricted to 5 globals including announcement for winners.
I was thinking the likes of an "adventure race" of some sort.
It's not profound so that's why i'm asking here maybe u got better ideas to put into the mix.
1. global msg for event (just to say where it starts and instructions are given at the start point to minimize global msg use)
2. at the starting area a player gives the hint for next area to go to
3. 2nd area, a player gives a hint to next area
3. 3rd area, a player gives riddle for finish line
4. finish line has a stall, first participant to enter and type a passcode (that he got from the 3 other areas) wins. there can be 3-5 winners depending on available prize at stake
once the next area is reached, the previous area (player or stall) stops giving the hint.... so there can be conservation of organizing players. of course participants will not be left easy as to skipping areas since he has to assemble the passcode.
there can be twists to an area giving the hint like:
1. player just shouts a description of a monster OR even playername (of next area) and coords
2. player stalls and inside stall is a party match #. participant has to look at that party match entry and get the hint for next area from the description of that party match entry
3. player stalls and inside stall are three (alchemy drop) objects (from 3 different monsters) or 3 monster names or 3 place names, participant has to triangulate from those 3 items in order to locate
4. a player is sitting and his guild_title says the next clue (has to be very short though)
passcode to assemble can be written as [X] where X is the letter/number in the previous hints OR hints were written in small letters and capitalized letters from all areas assemble to form the final area passcode
OR if you have a cmpletely different system. please suggest it to me.
NOTE: (before you post, please READ THIS FIRST)
this is an inquiry thread, i have an idea and i'd like suggestions or comments. pro and cons to the mechanics perhaps... no OT or flaming please.
