Some ppl are making a sro emulator or something, so who knows, maybe soon we will have a private sro server, or even a client, with which you can make a server

for one if you wanna make a private server you would need to buy a licence from JoyMax and they wont be cheap but if you do let me know

that we shall make some inside union and everyone pays some cash to buy it out,and than all who has paid can play on this server

JM will never sell it, and besides almost all if not all private servers are made by reverse enginering the game. basically all private servers are illegal, but as long the hosts don't make any good money from it, they will often allow it.

one of the versions of sro is privatly owned so they allow it

i dont get what you mean by liscence for a private server mean then,
do you mean that if a company thats not JOYMAX wanted to publish this game (lets say china for example) they will buy the liscence and publish it and make money out of it?
i was talking private server as in basically a "unofficial" server, run by people who do it just for fun. they often have alot higher rates.
you don't need a liscence for it...

i'm sure if someone had enough time and effort they could easily make a private SRO server with 100x exp and 100x drop rate.. that'd be fun

Runescape 2 has servers owned and operated by Jagex... you can't make your own Runescape2 server unless you somehow downloaded the secret files from Jagex's computers.
I don't know about the first Runescape, now renamed as Runescape Classic, but you still can play it on their last 2 UK servers if you know your RSC login stuff from before RS2.
Runescape2 has a few hundred servers, each holding a max of 2,000 players. With F2P and P2P worlds. P2P has a much bigger map and more skills etc.
I have never seen such a nasty communiy of players and so many cheaters in a game until I played Runescape. Every single person is a scammer, trying to trick you to give PW or say your PW... However, Jagex has all these things like "random events" and secret "repetitive action detectors" to lower the amount of botters, yet they still shine through.
Left Runescape last week for SRO, felt like giving a little review.

iirc the bot companies for this game have the server files, because i think (not sure) they use server emulation for their bots...

Isn't the copyright date of SRO is from 2003-2006? if it is then its legal now.
