Hi all,

I’m fairly new here at the forums and with the game. And with all this bot-crap / flaming / negative issues going on I thought it would be nice to give you the experiences of a noob on the Oasis server.

2 months ago I started playing and currently I’m a lvl 22 glaivie / glavie pure Str. Yes, I know some of you will probably say that it takes too long to reach lvl 22 but hey, I’m a family man and don’t have the time to play all the time. Although I try to sneak in for 1 to 2 hours per day.

Yes sometimes it’s hard to login but after a couple of tries it usually succeeds. And yes, sometimes I do curse when I get the disconnected message but I’ll just try again. And yes, sometimes I lag and find myself resurrected in Jangang, I’ll start again. And yes, sometimes it’s hard to find the npc between a forest of stalls but clicking the right mouse button and change the view helps. When I log out of the game I always find a quiet place in Jangang or Donwang or sometimes on the dock at the ferry. It cuts down the loadingtime when you’re having an old PC.

What I also enjoy is chatting when I’m stalling. Just having fun with other players/stallers, complaining how bad bussines is going, talking to “customers”. Once when I was selling elements this guy came and bought all the stuff. I told him that I probably was too cheap. In fact I was and at the end he gave an extra 10K for 2 lousy lvl 1 elements. He didn’t have to but he did and I was quiet surprised at this gesture [probably he still got the better side of the bargain but anyway]

When I’m lying around because I got killed (*again*) I never shout “ressssss etc” but pm a nearby player and ask [politely] if he can res me. Most of the time someone can and does and it’s a small gesture to send a “thank you”. 99% of the replies: “hey, np”. What I do “hate” are these “difficult” names like XXx00zErOXX. Before I finish typing the name he’s gone.

So far I’ve got PK-ed once. I was wondering what was happening before I realized that I got PK-ed. No, I won’t tell you my IGN Oh, and I also would like to have a “small kick” option to kick the rabbit/squirrel/monkey. Especially for lower lvl guys like me, every goldpiece is welcome.

A collegue of mine is also on the Oasis server and together we’re partying and currently smashing the heads of the devil bugs to get 150 eggs. And run like hell when a couple of earth ghosts decide to attack us.

I haven’t purchse silk yet and I’m not planning to as I don’t think that I’ll reacht lvl7x because I don’t have the time and I won’t use a bot as it takes away all the fun.

For now I’m enjoying the game and have a lot of fun. Although I’ve probably got my character build completely wrong. It’s the fun I have that’s important.

Oh, and a question. If I have a drop 8 out of 10 it’s female armour or so and I’m a male character so that sucks. Do female characters get mostly male armour drops?

Anyway, I’m a happy noob questing around the world of Silkroad Online and planning to hang around some more.

dunno why most of the sro players are complaining, start your own free mmo and try to do better than joymax, guess youll fail horribly.

A tip when your dead and want to whisper someone - hold down shift and click on them and their name will pop up in the chatwindow.

Ha, I can imagine you doing so... Earth ghosts are pesky buggers.

=) glad you're having fun. The reason why most players complain so much is because at later lvls, the bots are much more frustrating lol.

I thought people had forgotten to simply enjoy the game and just ignore all of the bullshit going on.

I had almost given up hope.

tip: if you shift+click a character you get the $theirname in your dialogue window

Yes is much BS now ..

But is nice to see someone having fun not only complaining over this and that..

I play on Oasis, I use to pop noobs everywhere and spawn on them during thief runs/ hunting, its a game and im trying to enjoy it and get the most out of it, i understand its ruining it for you 'newbies' , get used to it, complaining here's not going to help. And when i hit 80, ill have even more fun at the jangan thief's point

Thats really cool, Silkroad needs more people like you. Who play for fun, not to bot and get to lvl 80 first. Keep on going strong
