Loosing items

Post by Knoppix »

Newb Alert! :!:

When do you loose items and what do you loose. Like if a monster kills you do you loose all your arrows but keep everything on you? Same for PvP and like general dieing. What do you loose?

You only lose items and such if you are a murderer. You drop items and such randomly when you get killed.

Drop for the winner to pick-up or destroyed?

What is considered murdering? Killing without a cape? Wouldn't a hunter be a murder for killing a thief if a theif guy was standing on the side of a road? and a theif be a murder if he attacked a hunter or a camel back guy?

Wrong.

If you are killed hard enough by a monster, you can drop anything in your inv.

It has nothing to do with how "hard" you are killed. There is a small chance of dropping any equipped item except your weapon every time you die outside of cape fights.

I remember at a job war at south gate DW one time a thief died and dropped her equipped black devil suit. One minute live thief, next minute dead no-job player and monkeys running to grab an item. Was slightly hilarious.

However, if you fight a monster that can easily dominate you the chances are much higher.

Every time that I've dropped a item, it was on a +20 or more monster.
Never dropped on a normal red.

Only because the chances of dying are much higher.

MastaChiefX wrote:Every time that I've dropped a item, it was on a +20 or more monster.
Never dropped on a normal red.

And this has happened to you how many times? Oh, I see, it's happened to you several hundred times, thus representing an adequate sample from which to draw your conclusion. My mistake, carry on.

You made a statement of fact with barely any supporting evidence. I corrected you. Where's the fire? When did I say anything about what you could or couldn't do?

I'll tell you one thing you can't do though, and that's spread rumors and bullshit around the forum without your ass being called on it. This forum is for the sharing of information and the weeding out of misinformation. Which end of the process you take part in is completely up to you.

Sorry. Since, well, you know everything and all.
Yea, I havent been killed 100's of times to correctly setup test groups.
And where did I say this is FACT? Isnt it assumed that everything I say is my opinion? And rumors? *Psst* masta thinks that if a really high lvl monster kill you, you have a high chance of dropping something.
Please.

You don't LOSE anything, if you stay dead for a second you'll see who picks it up and therefor you'll know WHERE IT IS (in that players inventory). Which means it is not lost because you know where it is.

So the fact is that nothing drops when killed by a monster, while not wearing a cape and not in pk/murder status?

Those are statements of fact, not of opinion. The English language is chock full of handy ways to indicate which type of statement you are making; I suggest looking into that rather than expecting the rest of us to explore your "develop psychic powers so we can replace reason with assumption" method.

@Rockshmo: No, the only time you can die with 0% chance of dropping an item is when you are wearing a cape and are killed by someone wearing an "enemy" cape.

I remember I got mobbed by 7 bunwangs when I was 43 and they killed me of course cuz I was in garms.. anyway.. i dropped my hunter id.. that's the only time I've ever dropped anything while dying to a mob.. i've dropped 1 thing in murder status and that was my shoes at lv 4x :) luckily my guildmate picked them up right away for me.. now i just store everything in my monkey , turn off pots, then die to a mob near me.. respawn in hotan with pots still off and go south and die to spiders once.. boom, instant murder status removal trick!

It can also be your weapon (I know because a guildmate once dropped her spear while watching LY), or a non-equipped item (I've dropped things like pills, horses before).

Ok I think I managed to get an answer... "Unless in PvP, you MIGHT loose somthing."

Next up, do you drop/loose 1/1000 arrows or all of the arrows? or like 20/1000 arrows?

:p same for money, do u loose it all at once, or peices of items which pile up.

Yes but only cape-fight PvP, no other form of PvP is safe.

When I dropped pills / horses, it was the whole stack of them.

I didn't drop gold yet myself, but I heard it's possible, so I always leave most of my gold in storage to be safe.

There is a very small chance u can drop a piece of gear if u die from a mob(very small). Except u cannot drop an "equipt" weapon under any circumstance. If u are in a murder status the chance of dropping item is greatly increased. Again u cannot drop your weapon if it is equipped.

Not true, but yes, you can lose your most valued items when your in murderer status, but then again, you can still lose items when you get killed by a mob, but most likely it will be a potion, my friend had his 72 +5 spear dropped during Yarkan.

You're right about non-equipped items, my mistake in wording. The weapon thing has been hotly debated here for a long time and all anyone's come up with is that it happened to someone else this one time. I won't believe it until I see it.
